It's Day Off today. No cleaning up. Time out.

People have been needing to drive about 70 miles to Lexington SC for gad. Yesterday we heard the Love truckstop about 15 miles away at an I-20 exit was now open and pumping so this morning we went to fill the empty genny cans. The waiting line was about 1/4 mile long. BUT... we went just a little way back towards town and the Racetrack station was open too. Five minute wait. The interstate crowd didn't know about that one! Good for another six days.

A few pics. That big beautiful pecan tree that was so nice to take a break under is gone.
BEFORE:

AFTER. Just missed the well on this side and the garden shed on the other. The old black walnut got stripped down too. Oh well, the top three beds on each side were getting pretty shady and unusable. Not now!

At least the tree missed the compost bin set up, kinda!

So, day off today, back to it tomorrow.

There is so much devastation in the Southeast. Hope you get power back soon, and that life will get a little more normal soon.
Western NC is still a wasteland, with 57 dead in just one county where Asheville is located.

So sad to lose nice big trees, even if they are shading your beds.

Losing a big old tree is like losing a friend. You don't know how much you would miss them until they are gone. At least it did it's best not to wreck too much havoc on your property by missing all of your important things.

I'm glad that you took a day of rest.
