OxyClean Method For Cucumbers?

It seems from what I've read that the usual cleaning of cucumber seed for saving is via fermentation like tomatoes. Can I use the OxyClean method on cucumbers too?

If not, what's your favorite way to save cuke seed? I have a nice really ripe 'Bushy' cuke (as in orange but no sign of rotting or disease) so I want to save seed from it.

'Bushy' is an OP variety with short 5' vines, nice for tight spaces. I grew one in a large bucket this year and it has done pretty well.

On the few occasions that I have saved cucumber seed it has beed via fermentation. Have never tried oxyclean or similar so can't compare.

I've only saved cucumber seeds from unplanned findings of overgrown old big yellow fruit, it's possible they were on the verge of fermenting inside the fruit. I've only just rinsed and dried them as is, no further fermenting. Certainly no expert.

I've decided to do both. Most of the seeds I scooped out are going through fermentation. A small amount of seeds (maybe 15?) went through oxycleaning and are now spread out to dry. The oxycxlean removed the goop just like it did for tomato seeds. Once all seeds are clean and have dried for about two weeks I'll do a germ test on both sets of seeds.

One top that might be useful if the fermentation process is slow @GoDawgs is to add a little bit of sugar and a pinch of dried yeast, have occasionally found it necessary with cucumbers.

Thanks for that tip! If it's not starting to ferment by tonight I'll do that.
