Bag o dirt
Curious if anyone has just bought a bag o dirt and just cut it open and planted your tomatoes or any other veggies in there and just let it be?? Is it worthwhile or should I just let it go and stick with pots.. curious

Re: Bag o dirt
Are you talking about regular bagged potting soil or some specific product.
When googling "bag o dirt" I found this
Here many people are planting their tomatoes in grow bags, which are specially made for that purpose or some have just used regular bags same way. The ready made bags have usually chicken manure or some other organic fertilized on one side of the bag. https://www.biolan.com/products/biolan-growing-bag.html
Problem with those bags is that the planting depth is quite shallow when you cut the holes on the side. They sell here such watering systems, where you put the bag on top of a water reservoir and those supposedly work quite well.
In one Finnish gardening group a guy cut the regular potting soil bags from the top and planted his extra plants in them. He said that those grew really well against the wall of his house.
