Why are my Yolo Wonders so squatty shaped?
This year my yolos are not producing much, and all the fruits so far have been short, flat, & roundish. Plus, almost seedless. There are 3 in an Earthbox, which I grow yearly. Spring was dismal, cold & cloudy, all the way into July. Anyone else have this problem before? Is it weather related? Photo might be sideways unless it corrects somehow after I post:

I'd guess it's a cross or a sport. I've never known conditions to reliable make bell peppers that shape.

Lack of pollination is what I find with bells that short. No seed, or very few means that fruit does not have to grow big to protect the seed or act as nutrient reserve for germination.

@Whwoz interesting, I never heard of that. I think I'll try another variety next year, I'm getting tired of Yolo.
Thanks!
Thanks!
