Gorgeous! :) We have Oenothera biennis here, not close to blooming yet. I'm guessing the flowers are bigger on 'macrocarpa'.. do they also bloom only at dusk?

Bower you are correct. The flowers on macrocarpa are about 3" across and only bloom during the morning. While they are present in the late afternoon they are all twisted and shrunken up. Also unlike biennis, this a a ground hugging plant that in only 8" tall. Both of these have beautiful yellow blossoms that the bees adore.
