Thanks for the updates everyone. I would encourage anyone who wants to send in any seed-large or small quantities- to do so. And sometimes Mother Nature just gets in the way so you may not get what you wanted to contribute, but you can still participate! I will send all seed out that I get.

Please forgive if this request for clarity seems silly, but having never participated before, I want to make sure I do it correctly...so if I want to participate in the tribute by receiving seeds as a new grower, I just need to send a SASE legal envelope of approximately 9x12, inside another envelope to the address above, with a list of varieties i want to request in order of preference. I should include 2 to 4 forever stamps. Should I also include empty 2x3 baggies? I'm guessing no, as they will arrive in baggies, but thought I'd ask just in case extra baggies are needed or helpful. Thanks for allowing us newbies to participate and for holding this newbie's hand

I know you have folks who have Stupice and Green Zebra growing which are my only two from her list.

I grew Stupice one year. It is an early variety but I didn't care for the taste. What do you think of the taste?

I am growing Grosse Cotelee from this list and happy to report that it's been doing well, seed is fermenting now and I will have plenty of seed to share.

I also am growing Malinovaya Zebra which you can add to this list - it came from her last seed offer, as passed on to me by FarmerShawn on TV. So far nothing ripe, it was a very late bloomer -- but there are fruit, so I'm hopeful I'll have seed to share.

I grew Stupice one year. It is an early variety but I didn't care for the taste. What do you think of the taste?

Honestly it is better than store bought but it is not the most flavorful or one many people would really like a lot. What it does excel at for me is reliability. Regardless of our growing conditions I will get at least a few fresh off the vine tomatoes. I do not baby my tomatoes. They go out when it is warm, no early season wall of water here, I may provide hail protection when very little or not depends on if I am home. I have had Stupice hailed down to a single small stem with no leaves and still bounce back and give me ripe tomatoes before it snows. They bloom and set fruit and ripen tomatoes when it can be 90 during the day and 50 at night. They are sturdy and can stand up to our wind without being shredded. Wry grin and I have been getting ripe maters off my Stupice for nearly a week now while my Green Zebra plants started the same day are just now blooming...

HAPPY YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE! No baggies required-that is just for new people who are packing and sending in seeds. Just send the envelopes and your postage and your list. I will send as many as I can to you, depending on what is sent in. I may substitute some and if you don't want them, the hope is you will pay them forward to someone who will grow them.

Since Akers WV was not being grown by many, I thought I would update my experience.

I've never grown it before this year. Only had two plants make it into the garden. They were planted out in March and are now well over 9 feet tall in a cage and still going if a bit worse for wear.

Production to this point.

2 medium sized tomatoes.

I do have every seed I could get from them, but I'm going to have to try this one again to see if I can develop some love for it.

Still hoping for some Fall fruit set. It's been so hot, but there is one little mater developing now.

I have about 5 dozen EML seeds saved but the tomato they came out of was not very big, and is from a plant from the seeds I saved in 2018. I am hoping and praying that I get at least one good big one that I can save seeds from. Preferably from one of the plants from the 2011 seeds that came directly from my Uncle Bob Estler.

I have a good amount of Grosse Cotelee seeds to send, and a small amount of Malinovaya Zebra, which is one of the added varieties from her last offering. (I am hoping to collect more, but as of now, just enough for a few packs.)

I went through my files and I always saved the coin envelopes she sent for her seed offer. I was able to find quite a few older seeds from the following varieties-Dutka's Pink, Eastham Pink, Joe's Pink Oxheart, Ludmilla's Yellow Giant, Ste Columbe, Trees Bottom Yellow, and Zleovo. I will send in a few packs of each.

My garden is still producing, so I'm going to let it as long as it does -- our first frost date probably won't be for a few weeks yet -- and both plants from which I'm saving seed for this tribute are among them. So I'll definitely be sending some in -- I have some saved from other fruit already -- but not quite yet.

Grosse Cotelee (aiming for 50 packs of 5-10)
Malinovaya Zebra (unsure yet how many - this one got a late start and was not as productive)

I thought it was very good, tricolor indet PL beefsteak slicer, as Carolyn had described earlier, that grew quite bushy as the season progressed, I think it would have been more productive if it had gotten an earlier start (there are tons of greens on it right now). Green/yellow skin that blushes red as it ripens, mostly yellow-green flesh with an occasional red stripe inside bigger fruit. The taste was good, rich and fruity, a little acid but on the milder side, firm flesh, medium amount of seed.

Are people doing anything special for seed saving? That is, hand pollinate and bag blossoms? I generally don’t do that so I’m at a risk for cross pollination, right?
