Been watching the TV mini series called War and Remembrance.
It was in TV back in the late 80s but never got to see it.
It came after The winds of war was on another mini series on TV.

I gotta tell y'all some of the scenes in this movie are way out there when it shows how the concentration camp victims were treated.
Also everyone was always smoking drinking hard alcohol and fooling around on their spouses.
In some segments the audio is out but not that much.

It's free if you look it up on YouTube.

Just when you think they don't make good movies anymore they surprise you.
I watched Hell or High Water last night.
What a fantastic movie set in West Texas.
It's free on YouTube right now.

Just when you think stuff was better back in the old days,

you binge watch the planet of the apes movies on starz.

Oh my.....1st and 2nd were okay, but after that...

War and Rememberance, I read those. Herman Wouk? I can picture the book. I remember reading the john jakes stuff too, civil war stuff that was turned into North and South. But I liked the other one on tv (the blue and the grey), with stacy keach with the henry rifle and the union private jumping in the air and clicking his heels. I tried to the as a kid, never got close! But the TV mini series, big strong dimple chinned dude played the navy captain guy. Robert Mitchum? I use his deodorant lol.

Hey, did you ever watch the spinoffs? I watched the 5 seasons and most(all?) the movies. Back when they aired, and then once or twice since. Season 5 was...disappointing with cast changes as I remember. But I never got to watch...the ranger stuff? And crusade. Not sure if it was two series, or movie and series, or what. I have not been been able to find it to watch for free.

I cringed when I read about them thinking about a reboot of B5.

One of these days I'm going to remember what the Vatican tapes is about and stop clicking on it.
Not interested in some silly program about demon possession or whatever it's about.

"That Girl"

I had no idea.
Snappy dialogue and oh my I love that voice.
It's like madmen without the scummy modern hollywood thoughts/"values" that all the tv writers have, and seem to think that everyone else must/should have as well. She has parents that are actually the right age, still married, love their daughter, and no one is sleeping around with a different he/she/it each week.

I put off watching The New Magnificent Seven 2016.
It's a fantastic movie I'm my opinion.
Free on YouTube.
Denzel Washington seems to always be in great movies.
The young lady Haley Bennett in the movie was also spot on.
In some ways she reminded me of my wife when my wife pulled a gun on some idiot trying to break down the door of our house to rape her.
The little snub nose model 10 Smith and Wesson was her's I've shown pictures of.

Yeah, That Girl. Been on Prime for a while. There is so much facial expression going on in that show. Now I never watched much 60s TV. The munsters and mchale's navy? Both black and white on tv in the 80s. But there are so many closeups on this show, there is actual acting required. Very little of it is the word vomit line delivery that they call acting nowadays. I just much prefer the proper framing and pacing and no one getting shot in the head and no artificial "suspense/surprise" caused camera tricks and amped up sound effects.

I love the 60s fashions and hairstyles. The earliest pics of my parents together are from the late 60s. My mom's hair often looked just like That Girl's cross hall neighbor.

For some strange reason I ended up watching two movies yesterday with Haley Bennett in them.
The Magnificent Seven and The equalizer.
Both movies had Denzel Washington in them.
Come to find out it wasn't by accident.

That's right...I remember Sally Field came up in a conversation (to me she is the bandit's girlfriend), and I asked my mom, didn't she have a tv show...I was thinking Gidget, and she asked was she "that girl"", and I said maybe, I thought she was Gidget, and then my mom oh the flying nun. But I thought that was a movie. Sounds like a disney movie. Maybe Gidget was the movie. Maybe Sally Field had nothing to with Gidget, I dunno.

This was probably after she had the brain tumor and was getting confused. But she mentioned "That Girl". And I had no idea what she was talking about. She did like Sally Field though. Sally Field (I should say, the chance for her to be on) kept her watching ER for a long time.
