All of ~370 WESconsin Garlic's are coming along, but behind the 10 year rolling average; doubled in size since a good hosing on Tuesday and three (3) straight days of 80°F/26.6°C +

Waltham Butternut Squarsh, Black Beauty, & Gold Rush Zukes, Wautoma Heirloom, Wisconsin SMR 58, and Sweet Success Cuke starts have outgrown their place in the Grow Light Plant Stand.

Soon as I get the Two Week Hence ALL CLEAR sign, usually second week in May; these have done WAY BETTER than I thought they would.

That’s a lot of garlic! Looking good.

You're new here, wait'll you's see the many slendoured @svalli array...from 240 miles/386 kms south of the Arctic Circle, no less!

After giving ~ ten (10) bulbs to a coupla Garlic-Deficient friends over the last two (2) days, we still have ~58 left; they won't go to waste and will be gone before we harvest.

Starting to sprout, though...just like, come to think of it, those which were bequeathed.

A mere two (2) months till scape-season, 15 weeks 'til harvest; Garlic is (IMO) one of THE best lessons in Delayed Gratification!

I’ll keep an eye out for the subarctic garlic forest. I grew garlic once and I agree it was fun. A little further south now than I was at that time, but I bet soft neck could still work here.

@MissS Yes ma'am! LUV that powdery fragrance; a close second to Oriental Stargazer Lilies.

Starts (those that have sprouted) have been transferred to the back porch On Deck Circle (which now smells heavily of Alaska Fish Fert)

The Jades are on the back porch in the shade (deck needs a li'l TLC...):

An EVENTFUL week at Jardín del Gotch...and it's only Thursday.

Tuesday: Drop seeded Salad Bowl, Gourmet Blend, & Super Jericho Lettuces, AND Joy Choi Pak Choi.

And because we've (groan!) endured THE WORST Tomato seed sprouting ratio since God was a child, The Gotch had no choice but to buy seedlings; fortunately one of his GO-TOs (Jung's Nursery) had a superb selection from which to choose:

Planted Today:
*Amish Paste (4)
*Mountain Magic (4)
*Radiator Charlie/Mortgage Lifter (4)
*Mountain Merit (4)
*Big Zac (4)
*Opalka (4)
*Lemon Boy (4)

Is it early for these here parts? Yup, but the 15 day forecast looks favorable, and if things GO SOUTH (temperature-wise) I'll just blame @Tormato...for what, exactly, is open to discussion.

It gets better.

My babies which did sprout are spending their 1st afternoon/evening/(tomorrow) morning outdoors.

Stay tuned...

I WILL take the blame, if you have frost conditions, you use my ingenious plan of spreading melted Wisconsin cheddar all around your plants, and it fails to work.

@Tormato; despite its many Many MANY advantages, WESconsin Cheddar Cheese melted anywhere but twixt two (2) pieces of bread, or perhaps holding yer elbow mac together, will leave you's with a pile of molten, lumpy goosh.

Clearly, Tormato has never gardened in WISconsin. Cheese would never have a chance to hit the ground here.
