GoDawgs wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2023 6:03 am @pepperhead212 , are you sure those are tulips? They sure look like daffodils.....
I sit corrected - I always thought they were tulips! I have no idea who told me that - someone had to have told me that when they first came up, the first spring when I had my house, as I know nothing about flowers, since most aren't edible! Those have come up every spring, for 39 years now, with no attention from me. I only started growing some flowers intentionally a few years ago, when I got some free zinnia seeds from BC, and since the pollinators liked them so much, I grew them again. And last year the Mexican Sunflowers, which the pollinators liked even more.
Ah! Had them that long, eh? Well, I bet they could use some dividing and transplanting around. You could eventually have a yard full of them for free. :)

@SpookyShoe those bletillas are beautiful! They grew like crazy in my mother's garden so I want to grow them here but locally they aren't available. A kind elderly neighbor once gave me a root but my husband killed it when he landscaped the area where I planted it 😔. How long do they bloom in your area?

I would say they bloom for about a month, maybe a little bit longer.

These Ranuculus are show stopping pretty. Plan on increasing my planting of these bulbs next November.

Weird I never thought about planting these or even heard much on garden shows about them as something that works here. I had seen Ranuculus in flower arrangements, but assumed they would not be something we could grow here.

They are beautiful and seem to be very popular this year. I will be interested in hearing how long their blooming season is for you.

Kind of fun these Ranuculus. We took over a bouquet of fresh cut Ranuculus blooms to a friend’s house today for her birthday. Funny, all the recent brides recognized the flowers right away.

Gardening is fun because there’s some learning going on continuously.
