Wordle 441 4/6

⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜

This was a quick one for me, despite zilch on the first guess, but I used up so many non letters in the first two guesses that by the 3rd it was pretty obvious!

Is there a clue page I’m missing? Like a crossword puzzle with the clue? I knew the word today, but I also knew of several other words exactly the same but with one letter, the first one, being the only difference. If there was a clue, that might greatly narrow down the choice. Otherwise, it just a wild “donkey” guess.

If there are several possible words that fit the bill, are y’all using some order of preference to select the correct word? Today’s puzzle, each word I selected seemed every bit as logical or in common use as the next.

Just wondering if I skipped over some instructions page like when something comes I have to build that has instructions. Usually, I toss them out. Did I toss out the instructions page with wordle?

No, there is no "clue" page, but there are cheats. I don't use them because to me that defeats the purpose but some people do. You can google combinations of letters and ask for words that fit, etc, and come up with lists of possible words. Found out one of my sisters was doing that. My other sister told her "stop posting that s**t if you cheated to get the answer, lol. She seemed surprised sister #2 seemd to consider it cheating. But since then she doesn't get the answer is as few guesses any more. You really are only challenging yourself, so decide what you want to use. You can also goodle "hint for todays wordle" and probably come up with some. But when you can make 10 words when changing one letter, like I have said in the past, its just luck if you pick the correct one or not. I have heard you are better off going for the more obvious or common words, rather than the more obscure, but not sure todays word is really an often used word by most people.

Is there a place you can look for the solution - at least by the next day- if you give up? There is only one time that I gave it up without making a last guess, and I sure would have liked to know what that word was!

I agree, you are really only in competition with yourself, so why cheat.

You can always look up the answer. Just google "today's wordle answer". They used to show you the answer when you were done if you didn't get it. Its been a bit since that happened to me thankfully so I am not sure if they still do.

They still do. I got the answer to the puzzle at the top of the page after I missed my sixth and final try. I am totally great with the way Wordle is structured and not being provided any hints, I just wanted to make sure there weren’t any official sanctioned hints that I was missing out on. Today, I went with words that I might see written or heard more often than what the actual answer was so I don’t feel too bad about missing out.

The time I quit it was before making a final guess -- just could not come up with anything, in fact I might have had two lines left but was out of meaningful words! But saw nothing on the page that would lead me to the answer. Sounds like you need to have all lines used up to get it displayed upon ending the game. I searched and now have bookmarked the Tom's Answer site in case I ever give up again!
