I used it on the plants themselves in 1974bjbebs wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 4:23 pm https://www.borealcuring.com/supergerm/supergerm.php
Cannibis grower-supplier in Canada. Don't know if US shipping is allowed. Cannabis growers have been using Gib. for old seed since the 60's. I've been told when it works plants tend to be leggy, even with high light.
Just me, but I'm too old school to try this. I don't have any seed on the endangered list.
and they were taller than me after 3 months, which works out to 2 feet+ per month.
Came in a spray can back then.

@pepperhead212 I tried GA-3 for the first time this year, as well as starting pepper seeds on a single layer of paper towel. I did about a dozen bags of sweet, jalapeño, cayenne and habanero seeds inside a snack bag on a heat mat. I soaked some jalapeño and habanero seeds in GA-3(300ppm) for 24 hours before placing them on a single paper towel, sized to fit the bag, and placed on the heat mat. I checked this morning, less than two days later and the GA-3 treated jalapeño seeds had about 50% showing roots and the jalapeño seeds just soaked in distilled water for 24 hours had about 25% showing some developing roots. A different type of jalapeño seeds that weren't treated with GA-3 showed a couple of roots. Nothing yet on the habanero, cayenne or untreated sweet peppers.

@pepperhead212 It's been 3 days now and all of the treated jalapeño seeds(12) are sprouting, and the untreated ones are showing a bit of root stems as well. 3 of the 12 Red Savina Habanero are sprouting, as well as some of the paprika and sweet peppers that were soaked in distilled water. Depending on how they grow, this will be my method next year for starting peppers.

@slugworth Do you recall what the concentration was of the GA-3 solution you spayed on the plants. I haven't made notes of that, when I'd see things about spraying it, in a few of these articles, as I'm using it for soaking, but I do recall a few that talked about it being sprayed on a number of vegetables.

I bought GA 3 and tried it to germinate really old tomato seeds King Humbert (1994) and Dr. Carolyn Pink (2002). I didn't know that there was an experience that GA 3 would not help germinate tomato and pepper seeds. It turned out badly, no seeds germinated for me.

I can sometimes tell just by looking at the seeds if they are going to pop or not.
Some look like uncooked pasta and are hopeless;like the seed turned to starch and has no structure at all.
