I contacted Dale at Delectation of Tomatoes to see what he has in stock of Ukraine varieties. He has traded directly with Ukrainian breeders. Here is his available seeds list:

Tatiana listed Biely Naliv Ukrainian as Seed Savers Tomato 4041. It is a golden colored tomato, from one of Carolyn's Ukrainian students.

I may need to go back and look thru the mmm early years again. Does anyone have this seed in their inventory, and know what year it may have been distributed, if at all?

Woodsprite, in past tributes it was my experience that different amounts of packets were sent depending on how peoples' gardens did. Some people had great years and others didn't. The packets you get back may not be the same as the number you sent or they could be more too. I will just say, grow as best you can and send positive vibes to those Ukraine varieties , package what you can, and I will send out what comes in. It's also nice to offer these seeds to the rest of our forum community and especially newbies to encourage greater growth and awareness of the varieties. So if you put in extra, they will be sure to go to someone who will appreciate them.

Does anyone know if they are actually from Ukraine? If they are Ukrainian then I can collect seeds from them to share in this grow out.

If I remember correctly, I had 3 seeds of BN at the start of the swap. I have no idea if they departed, or not. Time to find out.

TORMATO : I incorrectly assumed the Ukrainian variety of Belyi Naliv was spelled like the Russian variety. The correct spelling is BIELY NALIV UKRANIAN

I'm still waiting to hear back from a Canadian member, here, who's still waiting to hear back from a Canadian seed bank, that has Doukhobors, but is doing a germination test on old seed.

I have Orange Russian 117. (Sorry. I forgot the 117 when I posted earlier.) I've never grown it before but understand from reading here and in catalogs that it is a yellow/pink bicolor oxheart that lots of people here love. Jeff Dawson crossed Russian 117 and Georgia Streak then stabilized it and named it Orange Russian 117.

I bought 10 seeds of Orange Russian 117 from Renaissance Farms along with several other oxheart varieties. I intend to collect seeds from all varieties that I'm growing this year so I will have seeds to share later this year.

I do know who sent it in, well. We've been trading for more than a decade. I don't think he's on the tomato forums much. So, if I still have his email address saved somewhere, I'll try to contact him. If I can't find that, I'll look for his mailing address and send him a letter.

Debbie, if you're growing Lyubasha from bulbils it won't form a scape or any bulbils in the first year.
If you're growing from cloves, then it will produce bulbils. Just keep the scapes on the ones for bulbils, and let them form fully before you harvest.

That's what I was afraid of. Probably no Lyubasha to share this year than, or Krasavka carrot seeds (biennial), but they'll be grown and over-wintered for seed production since they're favorite Ukrainian varieties.

Carrots are basically biennial, except in my garden.

I think that about 50% of all varieties that I've trialed had a few plants bolt the first year.

I think some of the tomatoes on the long list are also not Ukrainian. Still worth growing out though, especially if they come from Nikitovka. I've been reading where their town is in the direct path of the invasion near Kyiv and the situation isn't good at all. I hope they've made it to safety and that their business isn't permanently affected.

At the end of the year I do get Ukrainian seeds from France.
