Re: What's on your 2022 tomato growlist?
As I've come to terms with the fact that my dirt is crap, and raised beds are my only options, I've decided to pare way down this year. I have 2 beds set aside for tomatoes (and 4 more for everything else), 8' x 4'. I am putting 2 plant of each variety 4 kinds per bed, so 8 varieties total.
Stump of the World
Anna's Multiflora
Berkeley Tie Dye (green)
Old German
Moskvich
Midnight Sun
Cherokee Green
Fuego Rosa
I've grown them all, except Moskvich, which I got from the Farmers Market and was pretty impressed with. KBX was supposed to have a spot in there, but then my Midnight Sun came back from the dead (really hot summer) and gave me some pretty amazing tomatoes.

Thanks @Gardadore and @Labradors for your confirmation of some of my picks. Some will be part of my Wish List for the MMMM Swap. (Sorry it took so long to reply, but my devices don't let me post replies unless I remember my password, and it's upstairs in a file hidden away, so I seldom get to it.)

Re: What's on your 2022 tomato growlist?
So I don't grow as many tomato plants as I used to in years gone by, but I still manage to grow 8 or 9 varieties every year. And it looks like I will grow my usual favorites plus 2 or 3 new ones. For 2022 they will be.........
SOTW
Polish
Odoriko
Dester
Lucky Cross
Cowlick's Brandywine
Aunt Ginny's Purple
King Kong
Vladyka
(And in the ground)
Indian Stripe
Sun Orange (hybrid cherry)

Re: What's on your 2022 tomato growlist?
I've got three different locations for my tomatoes. We'll be doing some containers, too, but I'm still on the fence about what to put in them.
For our backyard:
Indigo Pear Drop
Tangerine
Confetti
Malevizio Crete Oxheart
Anna Herman/German
Starinski Zuta
Grail
Those last two I got off tomatoeden.net. I grew the Grail last year in a container and liked it, but this year I want to try it in the ground. The Starinski Zuta is a cherry that caught my daughter's eye, so we're growing that in place of Sister Keyes this year (yeah right, like I believe she won't find a way to slip a Sister Keyes plant into one of the locations).
At my mom's house:
Golden Buddha
Heart of Ashgabat
Amish Paste - the Peace Seedlings (Kapuler) strain
Yellow Fire - also called just Fire
Desperado
EM Champion
Long Tall Sally
Yellow Fruit Jelly
Pink Fig/Rozovyi Inzhir
Peachy Keen
Sweet Splash Electra
Italian Gold
Abbittista
Amos Coli
Inciardi
Pomodoro Cuore Antico di Acqui Terme
Doubloon
Plan 9 from Outer Space
And a few experimental crosses
My mom is planning to grow these in this location, too:
Midnight Sun
Coure di Bue
Polaris
Ludmilla's Pink Heart
Granny's Throwing Tomato/Periforme Abruzzese
And probably a few others I can't remember offhand
At the farm:
Oncle Remi
Waverly
Wisconsin 55
Long Tall Sally
Orange Jazz
Dark Stripe Micro
A Roma that may be Romeo
Black Beauty
Luc Fichoise
Chef's Choice Orange F1
Chef's Choice Orange
Experimental crosses
The non hybrid Chef's Choice Orange came from someone I know who has been growing it for several years after saving seed from the F1 variety. She says it's identical to the F1. I'm looking forward to finding out.
There will be more at the farm, too. I just don't have those all solidified yet, and I probably won't until they're all actually in the ground. Of course, the other locations are also subject to change.
For cherry recommendations, I think Indigo Pear Drop is great. My daughter is a big fan of Sister Keyes. We all like Sungold ( that's not exactly an original recommendation, I know). My friend's favorite is Sugar Lump/Gardeners Delight.
Oh, and I'll also be growing Dwarf Oriole if it's released for 2022. Not sure which location, but I'll find a spot for it.

Lol, I can completely see that happening. Good thing I'm only at the start of the 2022 notebook. Plenty of room to re-write lists.

Seeds fly abundantly around this site. I never make my grow list final until I get them in the ground because I grow many plants for others as well.

Re: What's on your 2022 tomato growlist?
The Pink variety is a wonderful tomato! (Those 2 in my profile pic are Chef's Choice Pink...) It's kind of hit-or-miss for me due to a nematode problem, but I always plant a few extra for my neighbor, who absolutely loves it!!
I have 2 seasons: Tomato and pepper season, and BAMA Football season!

Re: What's on your 2022 tomato growlist?
I'll likely try a few more variety's come spring but right now I have 3 plants each of 4 from Wild Boar farms that I tried on a whim to grow this winter here and they are all very productive. I'll certainly save seeds from the Kellog's Breakfast and the Black Beauty I got from there for this springs planting.
Have had night temps around 36f here this week and frost on the windshields each morning, yet the garden is doing great. Tomatoes are prolific and approaching 6' tall.
Trying to get seeds from them for PINK BERKELEY TIE-DYE / https://wildboarfarms.com/product/pink- ... y-tie-dye/ by the end of January for spring planting but thus far no luck.
Current pics of BB and KB in our garden...

You can always try asking in the "Seeds Wanted" section. We have some very generous people here and they just may have them for you.Bob M wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 8:09 pm Trying to get seeds from them for PINK BERKELEY TIE-DYE / https://wildboarfarms.com/product/pink- ... y-tie-dye/ by the end of January for spring planting but thus far no luck.

I got my seeds for Pink Berkley Tie Dyed from Pinetree and I have seen them listed in the spoiler list for the swaps. I am not sure where my spare seed is or I would send it to him.MissS wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 3:46 pmYou can always try asking in the "Seeds Wanted" section. My finalised grow list..rossomendblot wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 7:03 am I was thinking about 2022 before 2021's plants had even fruited![]()
We can only fit 8 tomatoes in the greenhouse so I am going to have to whittle the list down from the following...
Girl Girl's Weird Thing
Red Lithium
Pruden's Purple
Rebel Yell
Azoychka
Grub's Mystery Green
Mat-Su Express
Carbon
Polaris
Daniel Burson - plant died early, deserves a second chance
Big Cheef - plant died early and I'm not sure it was true to type
Not Purple Strawberry
Sgt. Pepper's
Trying to find a really good orange, yellow or bicolour slicer/heart/beefsteak. Orange Jazz is prolific and beautiful but doesn't taste of much to me and some of the fruit has very hard, inedible veins. Northern Lights also very pretty but quite mild. I guess I'm looking for something more assertive with a good sweet/acid balance. Brandywine Yellow, Lillian's Yellow Heirloom, Aunt Gertie's Gold and Yoder's German Yellow I've seen recommended but they all seem a bit too late for my climate.
Girl Girl's Weird Thing
Rebel Yell
Mat-Su Express
Daniel Burson
Bear Creek
Sgt. Pepper's
Heshpole
Rosedale
...so no greens or orange/yellows for this year. I need a bigger greenhouse
