Re: Your favorite Super Bowl or party food?
I won't be making any 'party' food this year because I'm having a party of 1.
And, as we know, 1 is the loneliest number.

Don't watch it but anything eaten by hand and not filling.
This way you can serve small things stretched out throughout the game.
Small meatballs hot wings shrimp and so on.
Sort of like an appetizer sampling thing.

Usually, weather depending, I go fishing on Super bowl Sunday. Sometimes in the past, I’ve harvested some oysters since they get extra good and fat and briny in mid winter cold water and if that happens we’ll slurp down a few raw with lemon and horseradish, saltines, tabasco, lemon, whatever add alongs you want and then eat some oysters en brochettes or angels on horseback, skewers of grilled or broiled oysters wrapped in bacon and creole seasoning or bacon with lemon. I could just buy the oysters, but it’s more fun getting your own ( a lot more work too).

I went to the store yesterday and couldn't figure out what all the craziness was with all the people in it at such an early hour.
Then I realized it was the super bowl.
This happens to me every year.

I don't know why, but I think of chili and tortilla chips as Super Sunday food. I don't watch much of the game, although I like the commercials. Tonight DH & I did make (yankee) chili, eaten with "hint of lime" chips.

Re: Your favorite Super Bowl or party food?
First time we have been home in many years for the Super Bowl since we are usually escaping winter and traveling. But we decided to make it a party for two. Of all the appetizers we made from shrimp, cheeses, deviled eggs, escargots and dips, etc, our favorite was bacon wrapped artichoke hearts baked in a hot oven (400-425 degrees). Crispy and yummy! Also hadn’t made that for many years. Game was disappointing but had fun noshing all day!

I don't have a tv, so I listened to the game on the radio. The radio announcer had a great call when the streaker guy ran on the field.
"A man has run on the field. He's wearing a bra. He breaks a security guard tackle at the 45. He's at the 40, the 35. His pants are falling down. GOOD GOD, MAN, PULL UP YOUR PANTS!"

7 layer chili dip and tortillas. The 7 layers are for each of Brady's rings.
