Pork and Chicken Sales Today
I'm not so much cooking today but getting ready to cook later. Boston Butts were on a three day sale for 99 cents/lb so I got two as I'm out of ground pork and finger strips for making char siu. Got one butt cubed up for grinding and am taking a break before I cut the other into strips and pack them up for the freezer.
Chicken leg quarters were on sale at a grocery just down the road from the first one and they had 10 lb bags of leg quarters for $3.99 so I grabbed one. Some will be simmered, deboned and frozen. Stock will be canned. The rest will be baked or grilled (weather permitting) and frozen for quick lunches later.
