Grandma Roberts Pole Bean
One of the new pole beans I received in the MMMM this year is 'Grandma Roberts' and I planted one pole just to try it. Wow! Old Grandma has won the race to get to the top of the pole first among five other varieties.
I noticed that it also has leaves that are a bit smaller than some of the others. And unlike some of the others that try reaching out to touch their neighbors, Grandma marches tightly up the pole, producing its pretty pink flowers and nice purple beans right along the pole. We'll find out in the next two days what the beans taste like. Click on the photo to get a closer look.
Thank you to whoever send these in!

Re: Grandma Roberts Pole Bean
I would if I could, @Whwoz but I've never grown Purple King. In fact, this is the first purple pole bean I've ever grown.
