Costco now has Sriracha made from the Underwood Farms peppers. These are the same peppers that were used to make Huy Fong Foods Sriracha brand so famous.

I picked this up at our HEB. Says product of Thailand.

I tasted it. Seems garlic forward and not especially hot.The pepper flavor seems different than the jalapeño based Rooster brand.

I saw it too but was afraid to get it.
Now I'm glad I didn't.
Sticking with J-Lek.
If I want garlic I'll add it myself.

I had a bottle of Cholula Hot sauce in my hands yesterday until I realized it was almost 8 dollars for a 12 ounce bottle.
What on earth happened there?
It didn't use to be that expensive and it was my go to hot sauce for years.

Wow. That's a lot for Cholula. It's $4.79 here which I still find pricey.

They used to be cheaper and owned by a family in Mexico.
They were bought out by a big investment corporation L Catterton in 2018 and then it was picked up by McCormick in 2020.
You can bet the Mexican family got the hose on this deal and it was planned all along.
Both companies made a ton of money and the price was jacked up because of the popularity.

I walked by the Hoy Fong the other day.
It looked nothing like the old stuff.
