Pasquali Walking Tractor - New Garden Toy
These walking tractors are Italian made and imported direct by a local Ag supply company. They come fitted as standard with a rotary hoe, with around 10 other attachments available that connect through a quick release PTO mechanism. Very easy to change over. Had a demo run of the hoe and a rotary plough about 2 weeks ago and proceeded to order one plus rotary plough and Flail mower. Had the tractor fitted with dual wheels also, which will (hopefully) enable me to use it when the ground is wetter than what I can currently do with the ride-on mower. Other bits, like a potato lifter and a bed former will follow.
Fifteen year old son wanted a go, but found the duals to much to allow him to easily turn the unit, so they came off, not needed at the moment anyway.
The hoe is good and will make bed prep easy, the plough will smash up any ground that I want to use that has not been worked before easily.
Only used the flail so far and it is a beast, cuts grass that is equivalent to ready for hay easily and turns it into mulch ready for the compost bin in one pass.
Showing "Hay" in the background and raked area in foreground. While son was mowing, I got busy with rake and wheelbarrow moving cut grass out of his way and into compost bins. Flail cuts down to roughly and Inch high, going to have to look at fitting slides under the sides of the flail to give it a little more height and stop it cutting into the ground when wet.
The area above has not still fully dried out, the walking tractor is leaving readily visible tracks as it cuts. Flail sits out front, handlebars are reversible and can be used in off set mode so that if one is using the hoe or plough one does not leave tracks in worked up area.
This area is a built up bank and before cutting was flowering dock stems and Kikiyu to about 18 inches long. Kikiyu is a Couch type grass with trailing stems and rhizomes that are about 1/4 inch thick. Very hard on mowers, the flail just destroyed it, mulching it up so that I can rake the area and add to compost bins and will be able to keep short with the ride on now.

Oh boy! What a toy! That's going to make a lot of work a lot easier. Congratulations on getting it. That offset mode will be handy.

Yes, it will be fabulous. Was thinking how you would benefit from the plough with your current bed expansion work. There is a video, which I will try to find and link here showing the plough being used to rip up a 100 x 25 foot area of paddock, 1 foot deep, in about 3/4 hour, with result ready to plant.
Going to make planting potatoes easy, use plough to dig trench to depth required (adjustable) drop in seed potatoes and dig next trench to cover and plant more. Repeat. just going to have to re-organise how I have beds to make best use of it. 30 plus meter (100 foot) rows coming up!

Another piece of machinery I can wish for...except my area is just too small. Always wanted a walking tractor and an actual tractor and a 1939 Duesenburg too.

That sure would have been a handy thing to have when I was first setting up the beds. However the new 4x18 bed and the 2' widening of the one 2x18 bed are the last beds I'm going to make. I'm unplugging the Garden Stretcher as I have enough to handle!

Reminds me of what my father called a Tournapull.

Something about one or the other wheel locking up.

Yes the same except this one was dual wheels!
Looks like fun, bigger rows on the way.
What engine is on there?

The little beast is just that, absolutely destroying any grass that I put it on, only real issue that has shown itself so far is due to the soft ground here. The sides of the flail are plate steel to the ground, about 4 mm thick. This just cuts into the ground, resulting in ground level scalping. Need to get some bolt on slides made up, don't need to be tall to one inch tube will do nicely
