brother jim at church, still says it will be a light winter until at least christmas. that happened
one year here. then we got about a hundred inches in january. we always get our snow, one way
or the other.

Snowing lightly here, as we speak.

Predicting first snowflakes in 30 min to an hour turning to rain as it warms up. Then low 50’s tomorrow. Quite a roller coaster but getting us ready for winter reality, I guess!

Winter arrived here earlier than normally and we have had snow on the ground for two weeks already. Many trees had still leaves when temperature started staying below freezing and it started snowing. That is quite normal for oaks here, but now there are even birches with leaves still hanging.

Temperature this morning was -18°C/0°F, which is much lower than typically in end of November here. Tomorrow will be closer to normal with more snow.

This is going to be really long winter.

This is the view from my home office this afternoon.

Back when we lived in Mass we had a few good snow storms over the years! I definitely miss New England weather, not nearly enough winter in the Mid Atlantic for my taste.

We do get massive snowfalls here on times, but it's not regular or predictable like keith's area. I guess it's a fair certainty that snow will pile up in february here.
So far we had a colder than normal November with freezes down to near record lows, with little or no snow on the ground. The bigger storms have been from the south with rain and above average temperatures.

I think I’d rather visit snow than the other way around. Last snow that stuck around here was in December of 2017. It was pretty, but I’m glad it didn’t stick around.

Our November 2023 has been cooler than normal, but nothing frosty…yet.

It was -5 with the wind chill when I got up this morning. Like it or not, winter's here.

IMO, winter's not officially HERE 'til I cease fetching the morning paper in shorts and bare feet...though boots accompanied the shorts on Sunday morning...

I had to scrape pebble ice off the car this morning nearly 1/2 inch thick under the bit of snow.
4C tomorrow though so the various frozen coatings will be gone again. #Not winter yet.
