Re: Largest Tomato Photo Contest
Cuostralee from 8/4. 2lb 8oz. Posted on another thread already. Pretty good chance this will be the biggest from my garden this year. Big, but this was multiple blossoms fused on the first truss of that plant. Only one other tomato, still green, on that truss. I cut it into three, by the natural creases of the fused fruits, and it was not a terrible amount of waste when it was served up in many BLTs the next day. Cuostralee are just an excellent tasting tomato.

Indian stripe is one of my favorite tomatoes but they never seem to get very big for me. Love the way they taste.

Re: Largest Tomato Photo Contest
I also love Indian Stripe, and for sure I never had one that tipped a full pound. Tomatoes are always smaller in my greenhouse though. My only big one this year is Amish yellowish orange oxheart, and did not tip a pound either.

Picked this beauty today while my great niece was down for a visit. My personal best of 42.8 ounces or 2.67#, add in a rambunctious little girl's expression of surprise...made my day!

pondgardner That is a beautiful tomato! But I must say that your first picture is absolutely priceless. No matter how much work you did this year in the garden or how much you spent on supplies, it definitely was a Kodak moment and worth everything for that one moment.

Mega Marv. Best managed this year with the rough season. Grateful nonetheless for the harvest.

@wodehouse That's a beautiful tomato! If you would like to share seeds with our members you are welcome to send them to me and I will pass them out in my Giant Tomato Seed Offer this January. I charge nothing for the seed and as of yet have not requested a SASE either. We are finding that large tomatoes usually produce seed that grows even larger tomatoes.

Re: Largest Tomato Photo Contest
Patti -- I'd be happy to share the seeds. I just cut up the tomato and am fermenting the seeds. There were fewer seeds than I would have expected, but I'll send the seeds on to you when they've dried...just PM me with your mailing address. Best...Bob (wodehouse)

Not huge but the biggest I've gotten this year, between the drought and the Canadian wildfire smoke haze. This is my one and only ripe Mortgage Lifter. 19.9 ounces.

Re: Largest Tomato Photo Contest
@Mark_Thompson That's a beauty! Very nice for a single fruit. It has great stems on it too to help support extra weight. I like to see that. Let us know how that one tastes.
Please, oh please save us some seeds so we can share!
