Saw a woolly bear caterpillar today for those that use them to predict the coming winter.
Completely blond,no hint of black roots.
!st time I ever saw one like that.
Usually they have some black. :D

That suggests a mild winter.

I haven't seen any yet, even up north when they're all over the thoroughfares in late August.

All ours are brown on the front and back with a black racing stripe around the middle.

Lots of black on ours in the Pacific Inland. We are expecting a colder than normal winter.
SO GLAD to be back! I was locked out for about three months, for some strange reason. :shock:

I saw one today carpet and drapes were black,the rest blond.

Ours are pretty evenly coloured. I always pick them up and toss them away from the road so they won't get run over.
