Missing Buttons

I have an Apple xr iphone and I asked some members some questions about posting. One user posted a screenshot of the red buttons and what each does. I seem to be missing half of the buttons.

I only have four buttons. The same three @NYTomatoNewbie has, plus the pencil button. I don't have the "X" button or the triangle with the exclamation point or the "i" button. I'm using Firefox on a Windows desktop. I'm fine with the buttons I have, just adding some data in case it helps sort out the problem.

I took a snapshot of my buttons. Now that I'm thinking about it, I probably have more buttons on mine than most of you since I am admin. You should have the pencil, the smiles, the quotes and the information button. I should think that you would have the report post as well since many people have used it and also the delete button.

those three buttons are other peoples posts. on your posts that you post, you will have additional buttons to edit or delete your post.
you can't edit or delete other peoples posts unless you are an administrator.

I have 6 buttons, which is about 7 too many, for me.

You seem to be missing the X (delete) button, and the i (information) button. I don't know what the i button is used for. And, I have no idea if there are more than 6 buttons.

Tormato has extra buttons because of being the admin for the MMMM subforum.
The X and the i buttons are for admin purposes, not for regular members.
As long as you have the edit "pencil", you can go back and delete your own post without needing the X button.

As for the i, for a regular member it would be "TM-i"

Now that smiley face button might be to assign a emoticon reaction to a post. By default that is enabled. But with this forum software, the user can opt out of the karma reaction game. I am one such dinosaur so I don't see that option on anyone's post, and I'm pretty sure you don't see that on my posts. I had to think what it was for when I saw your screenshot.

Can someone give me a screenshot of how to delete a comment I made using the pencil only? I did some posts thinking I was editing my original post, but I think I had hit the quotes button, so it duplicated everything several times. When I tried to go back after I figured that out to edit using pencil. I could delete the text, but not the entire comment so I just changed the text to “removed”.

No you can't delete a post until you get your delete button back. We are working on it but it's not so easy.

If you tag me where you need a post deleted or PM me about them, then I can do it for you. I have an errand to run so won't be back here for an hour or two.

The following was found in the FAQ area...not sure about the missing delete function.

How do I edit or delete a post?
Unless you are a board administrator or moderator, you can only edit or delete your own posts. You can edit a post by clicking the edit button for the relevant post, sometimes for only a limited time after the post was made. If someone has already replied to the post, you will find a small piece of text output below the post when you return to the topic which lists the number of times you edited it along with the date and time. This will only appear if someone has made a reply; it will not appear if a moderator or administrator edited the post, though they may leave a note as to why they’ve edited the post at their own discretion. Please note that normal users cannot delete a post once someone has replied.

@NYTomatoNewbie the screenshot you posted above was done after your initial post was replied to, so you wouldn't have the ability to delete it.

Ok, thanks for the explanation. I think when tormato cleans up the wish lists by deleting the responding comments it will remove the spoiler. Thank you for your help!

What happened to the reaction button?
I don't even see reactions anymore.
Looked everywhere and can't find anything my way to fix it.

@worth1 Go into your control panel and make sure that you have the reaction button enabled.

Just noticed all my buttons are gone too, the only ones left are the "report" and the "quote" red squares next to the avi picture.

I wondered if something had been changed overall on the board. I have not logged out for a long time, so if many other people still have them I suppose I could try logging out and in again.
