I am a suburban backyard gardener who is saving to get land in the country one day. I love gardening and I love eating food that I have grown myself. I have a small garden, I keep chickens and I keep bees.

Welcome aboard!

My paternal Grandfather came over from the RSA to the USA to go to school at Cornell around 1930 and with the intent to return to the RSA after finishing his degree, but he met and married an American, my grandmother. Until recently, I had a cousin in Pretoria and another in Capetown. One is now in Ireland and the other in the Netherlands. My dad’s been to South Africa several times, he loves it there.

I am full time employed and only work in my garden and tend to my bees on weekends. Time is a huge constraint but giving up is not an option.
