also wondering about your Shadow Boxing - seems to be a varied selection out there due to early release by Tom I believe .... received some in a trade, but no idea what to expect ...... just read this one is a cross of "Brad's Black Heart" and "Dwarf Wild Fred" ...... nice - may have to include this in my grow list!

Growing Coastal - loved Adelaide Festival first year growing - second year not so much ...... Fred's Tie Dye was really nice too

Dwarf Pink Passion is always on my list as a "first early." OTOH, my total number of dwarfs will be reduced this year. I find that I can typically get more production from one compact determinate or semi- than from two dwarfs. And having just one plant in an EarthBox works out better overall. That said, there are several really good dwarfs -- Coastal Pride Orange is a really good one, I think.

Loxton Lass, one of Patrina’s dwarf tomatoes. Big orange beefsteak, meaty and flavorful. It was one of my best producers. Also growing Dwarf Mr. Snow and BrandyFred.

Of course. I grow a couple of dwarfs every year.
About the Shadow Boxing: there seem to be 5 "types".
The types according to the Tater Mater board.
Shadow Boxing Type 1 - plum shaped, strong anthocyanin expression in fruit, stripes
Shadow Boxing Type 2 - globe shaped, light anthocyanin expression in fruit, strong stripes
Shadow Boxing Type 3 - nippled plum shape, light anthocyanin expression in fruit, some striping evident
Shadow Boxing Type 4 - nippled plum shape, strong anthocyanin expression in fruit
Shadow Boxing Type 5 - Dwarf plants, somewhat round fruit with pronounced nipple, no anthocyanin expression

It's good to know what type you're growing in case you want to share the seeds in the future. I grew Type 2 some years ago. The foliage was stunning, with a metallic blue glow.

Dwarf Velvet Night was excellent and very productive last year and will be returning. Thinking of adding Wild Spudleaf and New Big Dwarf. Am adding Sleeping Beauty this year too.

I went a bit wild with the amount of Dwarfs I am trying out this year...Tennessee Suited, purple heart, brandyfed, pink passion, aussie drop, wild fred, rosella crimson, rosella purple, tastywine, orange cream, summer sunrise, summertime gold, summer sweet gold, sauce mary, and velvet night. I'm trying to find a favorite Yellow or orange variety. I have liked Tennessee suited the best (for flavor and productivity).

While going through my seeds to make sure I have what I want I discovered more seeds I want to try. That put me over my limit until I realized that cherries don't really count! They are small, don't overwhelm with fruit and the neighbour's kids love them.
So I am adding Coastal Pride Orange and Mr Snow.

Every year I make a list and count to ten. This is the number of containers for Dwarfs. My list of varieties changes often. So this is just the first idea: Dwarf Arctic Rose, Uluru Ochre, Wherokowhai Dwarf, Big Green Dwarf, Dwarf Pink Passion, Giant, Dwarf Sean's Yellow, Dwarf Mr. Snow, Dwarf Mahogany, Dwarf Purple Heart, New Big Dwarf.

I'm trying a bunch of dwarfs this year - uluru ochre, pink passion, kookaburra cackle, mallee rose, golden heart, arctic rose, blazing beauty, sleeping lady.

My plan is to start them really early, then plant them out early into a low tunnel within a high tunnel. Has anyone here tried something similar before? I'm really hoping for better early tomatoes this way.

Well, only if you count the possibility of me growing Husky Red F2 (the F1 wasn't very dwarf-like in size).
