Re: 2021 MMMM non-tomato/pepper suggestions
Beans- I'll be posting everything that I have, and anything else that comes into the swap. Anyone is welcome to any of them.
A total crop failure for me this year, as I had 150 starts (in cups) out in the yard. Something chewed them all down in two days. I think it was squirrels. I've never had a problem with them, until this year. It's the first time that I haven't had one or more of my neighbors' cats prowling and lounging in the garden. So, I decided not to direct sow beans, too.

Re: 2021 MMMM non-tomato/pepper suggestions
Eggplant? They are a tiny seed to swap, but I've read some places (on the internet, where everything must be true) that crosses might be poisonous fruit? Not saying I believe it.
I am set for a while for myself with F1 seed, Dancer and Santana.
In general I have a hard time gauging eggplant's appeal. I know a lot of people that have never tried it, and then I see people putting big store bought plants out in early May uncovered, way too cold, and they don't do well. Since I started growing for seed, I always have plenty that goes unused, so I don't think it is real popular around here.

I rarely see anyone growing Eggplant in the area either. Those that do, have maybe 2 plants and they never do well, as it's usually their first and last time they grow it. Really is a shame, they are beautiful plants.JRinPA wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 12:02 am Eggplant? Re: 2021 MMMM non-tomato/pepper suggestions
I can donate bean, squash and watermelon seeds because I'm trying to pare done my seed stash some. I have a great Soviet-era pumpkin that I've been stewarding since 1991 and that I recently formerly donated to SSE. Also Nanticoke and Seminole squash and a super cute little Siberian watermelon. I also have some extra heirloom bean seed packs from a Sand Hill Preservation grab bag special that I'm not using. Let me know.

Re: 2021 MMMM non-tomato/pepper suggestions
For those looking for beans, the current MMMM Beans thread is fairly usable for selecting varieties. There will be some new varieties added for this year.
Most of the other non-tomato threads are not very usable, as most varieties were sent out in the last swap.

It’s looking like I’ll have Kentucky Wonder and Rattlesnake beans to contribute, as well as probably some cukes.
