Hello from Dayton Ohio
Hi I love the heirlooms and needed to find passionate tomato growers. All the stripes and reverse colors don't impress me. Been playing in the Facebook groups all summer. Look forward to next summer here.

Welcome to TomatoJunction!
What's your favorite tomato, to date?
Those stripes can positively affect the nutrition, it seems. That's one utilitarian thing about them, if the look doesn't impress. I mean, the gs gene can be used in combination with other genes to help breed high zeaxanthin tomatoes. I'm not sure what it does to tomatoes without those other genes.
Different colors of tomatoes have different nutrients, too, if you're going for any or all that they happen to have, in particular.

Welcome Skyblue52 glad to have you here. Heirlooms are my favorites too. I just haven't found a hybrid that can compete. Heirloom seeds can be found aplenty here. Look at the MMMM tomato seed swap you just might want to participate in that. It's a truly an amazing seed swap with hundreds of heirlooms in the offerings.

Have you found any good Facebook groups dedicated to heirloom tomatoes?
And, don't listen to MissS (Hooper). There aren't hundreds of heirlooms in the swap... there are thousands.

Hello from Lebanon, OH. I know at least one other tomato grower in the area also. It would be nice to form a local network. What kind of heirlooms do you grow?

Hello from Alabama, formerly from North Central Ohio (60 miles due north of Columbus.) Love heirlooms. But in addition to my family's heirloom which is pink, I actually love bi-color/striped. Some of my faves are Big Rainbow and Big Zebra.
