Mike's sweet potatoes

This is my first time growing sweet potatoes. So I was curious how they were doing, I decided to harvest my smallest container with only one slip in it
This is what I got almost 4 lb I think I'll wait 4 or 5 weeks before harvesting anymore I still have 5 containers with two or three slips in each one

I can't see your picture, but that sounds like a fantastic harvest! I'm growing sweet potatoes in containers for the first time. A friend gave me loads of slips and I had nowhere to plant them in my veggie gardens, so I set up five containers that get full sun, and two cold frames that face west. I'm not sure that the cold frames get enough sun.......

I started my own slips, some are from just a regular sweet potato, and the others are from a purple one that I got from Trader Joe's

Update on the sweet potato project
Yesterday I harvested another batch of sweet potatoes got not quite 10 lb total from three slips
I took a couple of cuttings and started them I'm going to see if I can grow them over Winter since we don't hardly ever get Frost here
In case you're wondering why I harvested them while it's still close to 100° daily here they were in a container that I use for my winter squash which I usually start around the first of October

You've down well for your first time out! I've never grown them in containers before. That would be fun to grow some cuttings over the winter. Your sweet potatoes themselves will also hold just fine until maybe late spring if you wanted to hold off starting slips until later.

@ GoDawgs My plan is to take one cutting a month and put it in the 15 gallon pots than I am going to use for Sweet potatoes
I learned that the good thing about using containers is you can just dump them over on a trap to harvest them, easy as can be.
