Funny, I have a thermpro thermometer that I have really liked. 2 days ago I opened the drawer it was in too fast and hard and snapped the probe. Ordered a new one of the same thing yesterday. About 15.00 on Amazon. I like it.

I got the 19 dollar one.
They had the 15 dollar one with one AAA battery and calibration screwdriver but I opted for the one with 2 AAA batteries and the calibration mode built in.
Don't know why, I just did.

Oh and the stand mixer also makes quick work making tamale fixings.
Like the meat filling and the masa.
The only real labor left is making the pesky things.

The cast iron lid works great no steam leaking out of the pan while in the oven.

Just used the KitchenAid mixer to mix up 5 pounds of ground chuck to make meatballs.
A heck of a lot better than freezing my hands off.

I am thinking about ordering one of the ones that folds up this time since my previous one got stuck in the drawer and that is *ow I ended up breaking it. Did you get one of the folding ones, and if so how do you like it so far? They have a bunch of models on Amazon, all thermopro in a wide range of prices.

Yes it's folding and I like it just fine.
Has magnets on it too.
Cost 19 dollars at Academy sports and outdoors.
Pops open like a switch blade.
Model number TP-18 S.

Plus it's really big.

Thanks, 19.99 on Amazon, but that model gets very good reviews and folds so I ordered it. Maybe I won't break this one. To many gadgets and utensils and not enough drawers and crocks to keep them in, lol.

Bunch of Black Fridays just went live. Got a 5qt brand new KA mixer from target, professional series for 219.00. KA site has refurbished for .99 more. I just happen to live 1.5 miles from target and can pick it up in an hour or so. Figured will save on transit issues.

Yes! I have a good friend who gave me $$ to get amazon stuff for the family as a baby gift (way better than baby stuff. Have a ton of that.). I got fertilizers I cannot find here, beach buckets and pails, the thermo pro thermometer, and a pizza stone and peel. Point being, I plan on using the mixer for dough for pizza!

Follow the safety rules and unplug before removing the attachment especially the dough paddle thing.
A young lady I knew got hooked up in it and it broke her finger.

@worth1 when i was 19, I had my first stand mixer experience. An old sunbeam. I was making pumpkin bread and misplaced the spatula I was using to feed my cooked pumpkin through the beaters to purée. Used my hand. Caught my hand in the beaters and jammed the mechanism. It was the 90s and so I had a crap ton of rings on which saved my fingers. I had to get people to pry the beaters aside so I could slip out. Told them I had no intention of going to the hospital and admitting i was so stupid. Then we used wire cutters on my rings. Chipped my bones a bit on two fingers. Never ever messed with mixer beaters again while plugged in. Ever.

Saw my mom catch her long hair up in a hand mixer once as a kid. Always tie my hair back too.

Bought a heater for the kitchen, also works well to dehydrate food in. Looking forward to making my own potato chips eventually.

And bottom of the line Avid Armor vacuum sealer, price is cheap, but so far working really well. I have good belief this one will last as their product line seem to have a good reviews rating across the board and I don't intend to do much vacuuming. It's compatible with the FoodSaver jar attachment.

For years I've been bugged about what to do with all my glass lids for my kettles.
Yesterday it dawned on me I had a big roll of electrical fixture chain.
I also had ceiling grid wire.
I made S hooks with the ceiling grid wire and use them to hang the lids vertically from the ceiling.

I was at harbor freight today looking for some cheap odds and ends for work that I can afford to get stolen.
Low and behold I saw scales.
Scales that run on plug in electricity and batteries as well.
Plus the readout is on a cord not under the darn bowl where you can't see it.
All the cords are easily replaced with standard communication cable and modern USB connectors.
The voltage output for the wall plug in is the same as a phone charger.
It's a digital shipping postal scale.
It says it's capacity is 110 pounds.
And it didn't really cost that much, only 40 dollars.
