Re: Everything But The Kitchen Sink Swap
I mailed the box out yesterday, so it should arrive at the next stop Monday or Tuesday. Thanks for a couple fun evenings looking at seeds, and a lifetime supply
. Planted some garlic today to start off...

Is this to someone else or coming to me? Sorry just trying to figure out what level of organization I should be working on today

Post #48 has the order. Should be heading to me (in CO), then I send off to AL, then AL sends to you in IL. I plan to get it back in the mail the day after I receive it. I hope our mail service provides speedy service
I'm so ready!

The next two participants claim that they will each take only one day to go through the contents.Homegrwoninillinois wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 10:05 ammarisolstice wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 7:22 pm I mailed the box out yesterday, so it should arrive at the next stop Monday or Tuesday. If so, I will get your address to the Southerner in a day or so. And, I will get the next participant's address for you to mail to. If things go smoothly, you should receive it in about a week.
I recommend that participants already have their needed supplies ready; that "Large Flat Rate PRIORITY Mail" box, plenty of (heavy duty) tape, and the possibilities of your donations of seeds to add. The box left, here, being very heavy. So, I recommend reinforcing the interior bottom with duct tape (or perhaps using a glue gun?, or both). Hopefully it stays upright in shipping.

I assume this box will make it back to you at the end. If there is space available in the box I have quite a few full new seed packs that have been collecting dust I received in various ways. Would it be okay to include them if they fit or would you prefer them packaged into smaller baggies to save space? I have some gorilla brand duct tape to do the trick. I will grab a box this week from the post office to be ready.Tormahto wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 1:43 pmThe next two participants claim that they will each take only one day to go through the contents.Homegrwoninillinois wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 10:05 ammarisolstice wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 7:22 pm I mailed the box out yesterday, so it should arrive at the next stop Monday or Tuesday. Feel so special to get two seed christmases in one year. This and MMMM swap will probably be the highlight of this year for me. I like a seed surprise since researching is my favorite.

You do realize, with not much of a specific MMMM wish list, and your having an unmentionable number of varieties, I have no idea what to send to you? And, I have no idea what you will select from the EBTKS swap box.Homegrwoninillinois wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 1:47 pmI assume this box will make it back to you at the end. I have no expectations of the box coming back. If it does, it does. If more people keep signing up, it stays on the road. So, any seeds that you want me to have, likely should not be included.

I felt it was more fun to keep it vague and just see what I get. I don’t mind paying to play even just to find a few gems. I’ll add one or two of the doubles I have and later I will just send you a box you can use for new folks, people who are looking for something or even just filler.
If I have caused you any trouble you can throw some peppers and zinnias or something in my box with tomatoes to get to the number of items needed. My fingers were near bleeding after packing mine and then packing my own retail items so I didn’t move onto peppers and such. If you need more of something (like peppers for folks let me know, I have a lot of those as well). I’m not as proficient in flower seed saving because by October I’m tired. I am happy to help anyone else if you need anything.
Don’t feel any pressure on my behalf please, I don’t have a preconceived expectation for you to meet. I just like reaching my hand in and not knowing what I will read when I take it out.

Re: Everything But The Kitchen Sink Swap
I checked my mailbox ALL afternoon (carrier usually comes around noon) and nothing! Then at 6:50 pm I check one last time. And the box is sitting by my doorstep! Yahoo! What a blast! I'll get thru a little tonight, but tomorrow will be a full fun filled fantastically fabulous play day! I'll get it on it's way to J.S. in Alabama on Wed. (unless something really unexpected comes up). The raspberry chocolate was soooo good
Thank you Tomahto!

Re: Everything But The Kitchen Sink Swap
I forgot to mention that, if possible...
add two or maybe three packs of each variety that you are donating to the swap. In that way, it will travel to several people, and more than one may want a special variety that you've added. By adding just one pack, only one participant can find it as being special, and those down the line will be out of luck.

All seeds are packed up (3 of each if I had enough) and are ready to go. Grabbing the large box tomorrow morning from the post office.
If the sender can let me know when it’s coming. Our temps are a bit warmer than normal and I wouldn’t want chocolate to sit in the sun in the box away from our home any longer than necessary

I'll try to have the sender email me the tracking info, which I can PM to you.Homegrwoninillinois wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 3:57 pmTormahto wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 12:22 am I forgot to mention that, if possible...

I see you are quite concerned about the thousands of seed packs sitting in the sun, too.

I've yet to hear if colocol2 has sent it along.

Re: Everything But The Kitchen Sink Swap
@Tormahto can you post a list of the next 3 or 4 people in line to receive the box? So that we have a bit of a warning to get things ready.
I keep editing post #48, deleting those who've received the box.
The unnamed southern gardener should be getting it about now, then HomegrowninIllinois perhaps about 4 days later. Old Chef is next on the list. Things are moving faster than I thought. I haven't searched through my PMs or know if OC is a MMMM participant, looking for their mailing address. If I don't find it by the time Homegrown receives the package, you will be moved up to next on the list. I have your address.
As for the MMMM, I'd likely be sending out your package about the same time as you receive the EBTKS swap. Should I hold off on the MMMM, and let you edit your wish list, after you go through the kitchen sink? There's a lot in that box, so much that I didn't make a list of tomato varieties, nor keep track of how many. I'll guess that it is between 1,000 and 2,000 varieties, but I really don't know.

I mailed the box out Wednesday 1/29. USPS tracking has a note as of yesterday "Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility." I'm hoping J.S. in Alabama will get it today.

Tormahto, should I edit my posted wish list to eliminate ones I got already?

@Tormahto Yes you can hold off my MMMM until after I get the Kitchen sink Box. Then I will post a wish list. For now I would like to be in the list for the Experimental Seeds. Cosmic Purple Rain.
Thanks

According to my informed delivery I have a package expected to arrive from Alabama tomorrow…if the post keeps moving as expected. It did reach the worst hub last night so we will keep our fingers crossed

Re: Everything But The Kitchen Sink Swap
I now search through 100+ packages for old chef's address (and hopefully the username to complete the match). Otherwise, it's getting you the next name on the list (in post #48), where I have that address.
