Keeping to the cake theme-

Our batter was given two much water over the past two days. The dry ingredients could barely absorb it! Then we were frosted overnight. Both walking and driving will be very interesting until things dry out! We're supposed to get more water and more frosting mid-week. Somebody needs to go to cooking school! The only thing holding our cake together is that it's frozen.
Come gather 'round people / Wherever you roam / And admit that the waters

Around you have grown / And accept it that soon / You'll be drenched to the bone

If your time to you is worth savin'/ And you better start swimmin' / Or you'll sink like a stone

For the times they are a-changin' / Bob Dylan

Someone left the cake out in the rain. I don't think that I can take it 'cause it took so long to bake it...

I just heard thunder. So, I quickly checked the radar, and it looks like I am about to get hammered. The only thing I prep is having a working flashlight ready.

That is a good idea. Did you have a place in mind? I'll have to check around. I'll ask my extension agent.

82° again today, but we got some heavy rain, with a drop in 20° already, and tomorrow morning they are talking about wind chills again! 57° for a high the next couple of days - about average - then warmer again, along with some more rain. I'm still hearing thunder in the distance, but it clears up around 3 am. I'll find out in the morning how much came down.

We gathered in a park with tables and a shelter. I am not sure if any of the past participants are still into tastings. Can’t hurt to see who would have interest. The extension would be a good start especially if Backyard Farmer could get involved. Plenty of time. We always waited until the first of August.

I'll pass the BF idea along! It may fall under the Food and Nutrition folks rather than Urban Garden.

Fortunately all we got from that nasty storm line yesterday was a lot of thunder and 1" of rain but no heavy winds. Whew!

Cooler here today - about 25° lower for the high, and still at 48° a little after noon! Rained a little over 1¼" last night, and I just heard that March had the most rain here since last March - a little over 5"; though we're still in a drought, my area is only about 6" short of the water we should have, down from around 10+", so things are improving.
