Re: How's your weather?
66° currently, going to 80° Mostly sunny, good tomato weather.
Rain coming Thursday and Friday. We need it. Awfully dry around here. Had a shot at significant rain in the wee hours overnight, but maybe got 1/10” plus some frightening claps of thunder and a brief burst of strong wind. All these noisy, sky lighting up 2 am storms do is provoke a bunch of sleep robbing anxiety. No doubt, I have PTSD from the tumultuous weather in recent years.
Thankfully, I had tied up most of my tomatoes yesterday so there wasn’t a mess of blown over plants this morning to deal with. The garden was in good shape, but some lawn furniture got blown around.

Re: How's your weather?
We got snow last night. Not much, about 1 inch, but enough to let us know that winter isn't over yet! Bah.
Come gather 'round people / Wherever you roam / And admit that the waters
Around you have grown / And accept it that soon / You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin'/ And you better start swimmin' / Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin' / Bob Dylan

There's a chance at the first 100 of the year tomorrow. It would be the earliest 100 recording by 1 day.

Re: How's your weather?
Raining before midnight last night, and still this morning, lasting to maybe 2 pm, but still, not much rain - maybe it will get heavier. Only getting to maybe 58° today, which is about normal for now.
UD - it stopped raining around 2:30 pm, so I went out and brought the trash cans in, then started putting the other trash out, and it started raining again! I got done quickly, and that line of rain coming up the coast, that was slowly moving east, now started moving west again. Don't know how much more rain I'll get, but any more is better!

Moving east, or moving west, that line of rain isn't missing me.pepperhead212 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 3:00 pm Raining before midnight last night, and still this morning, lasting to maybe 2 pm, but still, not much rain - maybe it will get heavier. Oh well. Rain in spring means yummy veggies in fall! Rain is so much better than municipal water.

Re: How's your weather?
got about 10 inches snow yesterday.
spent the early afternoon blowing it off the drive way and around the house.
more snow possible over night, but then we have three days of mostly sun.
got to about 30 degrees today, but the wind chill was in the teens. the sun
was shy today.

Today was supposed to be one of those winter relapse days, but the wind shifted southerly, and now it's raining, gusting 80 kph/ 50 mph out of the south, high supposed to get to 8C or high 40's F.

Not 100 but 99 is a record. Official temps are taken at the airport which has a greater heat island effect than my specific location so it was a couple of degrees cooler at home.

Re: How's your weather?
I think Spring is here to stay. That's not saying there won't be anymore frost threats though as we usually can have one last cold snap as late as the third week of April. But for now we'll just enjoy what we're having. I'll believe the forecast of rain when I see it.

we have enjoyed three days of sunny weather, blue sky with nary a cloud.
unfortunately we will be getting back to our regularly scheduled programming.
friday we start getting a wintry mix with ice accumulation. may also be getting
some snow saturday and sunday of unknown amounts.

Yesterday got to maybe 51 or 52 degrees, and today a couple degrees warmer - still a few degrees cooler than this time, but tomorrow is forecast for 70°, or a little warmer, and Saturday is supposed to be our first 80+ day! More than 20° warmer! Maybe some rain Monday.

Re: How's your weather?
cake weather.
we're the cake.
first we are getting icing. makes walking and staying upright a real adventure.
then we will get the frosting. a few inches of snow on top of the accumulated ice.
it could get real interesting.

Re: How's your weather?
On the cake theme, we had coconut sprinkles this morning, but they melted.
More sprinkles on the way tonight or tomorrow.
There's a solar eclipse around dawn in parts of Eastern North America tomorrow morning, would be about an hour after dawn here, but of course, overcast expected... So it'll just get darker about an hour after dawn. Everyone awake will go back to bed.

Re: How's your weather?
There's a nasty mess of storms headed this way later today. We sure need more than the 0.3" of rain we got yesterday but don't need anything destructive along with it!
