[mention]MissS[/mention] I was just in the garden moaning about why mosquitos bite you on all the ichy bits, neck, elbows,knees and ankles. She mentioned to me their other name "noseeums", an American term - I love it and so apt !

[mention]Growing Coastal[/mention] midge, mosquito, I never get to see them but feel their presence unless I get lucky and splat see the smudge of my own blood. We live 100 yards from a wet meadow so get lots, but we also get to see the bats come to gobble them up too.

I see mosquitoes, especially when they're in the house. Our mountain mosquitoes are built like helicopters. Fortunately our no-see-ums are only in the woods.
