We get the other three, I just call it blight but it is mostly septoria to start. Been a long time since we had late blight or gray mold (knock knock knock on wood). 2013? 2011?

Yeah knock on wood for sure. Still getting night rain and high humidity here, could use a good drought for tomato health.

Looks like you can enter both the giant tomato contest and the ugly tomato contest with that one! A strong contender.

Your Porkchop is very horizontal there. I would start thinking about making a hammock for it for support. Last year I used pantyhose tied to t-posts. This year I am going to try beef netting.

What did you do to get that so well pollinated?

Your other crops look fantastic. There isn't anything much better than fresh picked corn. Those are nice full ears too. It seems like you have fresh veggies all year long. Lucky you!

Good news and bad news. The bad is that the fungal diseases are just destroying me right now. The good news is now I don’t have any leaves over my lower fruit trusses, so look at these beautiful pictures I can take!

So yesterday I planted another tomato plant. I have a strong feeling about this one, so strong in fact that I’m gonna call my shot…

The plant is Guido, and @Cornelius_Gotchberg was kind enough to give me the seeds, so I almost feel bad for the fact that this sweet little baby plant is going to produce such a huge tomato, that it will put all of his Guido’s to shame. Almost. By the end of this season I think we’ll be referring to Guido as a Hawaiian Heirloom.

FTR, one Monster Guido©™® is currently >6'/1.8m, the other >7'/2.1m, and both are lush-n-bushy as all get out.

On a more serious note, ‘tis the season. Most of my larger fruits are yet to ripen, but the cherries and pastes are starting to pump em out. Staying busy handing them out to everyone in the neighborhood.

Some solid harvests, my cherries have all outgrown their cages so getting creative with the lowering and wrapping. The slicers still haven’t hit their peak yet. I planted another round of giants, been a poor summer for them thus far. And the very last pic is my Habro Heart megabloom, quite the specimen.

Just so happens the last few garden pics I took might be of interest to @Cornelius_Gotchberg My Mountain Magics that I started after everything else are looking happy, one has fruit set, and the younger Roulette pepper plant (tree?) just had a wild growth spurt and toppled over a little. Will try prop it tomorrow.

The weather has been rough, I’ll put a disease pic in here too. Just haven’t had time to prune or spray. I guess them’s the breaks. Throwing away tons of unsalvageable split fruits, but still have enough keepers to make it worthwhile.

The Gotch

That plant stem reminds me of a couple huge estivas and a cuostralee from up at my brother's one year. I didn't pay much attention back then but he must have gotten a lot of rain in May/June, and back then they were older, overgrown starts I was growing. We trenched the cuostralee, probably 15" buried, and the results were big stem and huge tomatoes. That was probably the first spark of interest I had in that variety.

One of the big estiva quickly developed a 2" diameter stem at the ground...someone on tville said that it was bad to have such a thick stem. It got huge and threw a prodigious load of fruit in a big CRW cage. That might have been his first year garden up there, and we certainly had fertilized.

Family processing morning, made two salsas, one for the kids, one for the “grownups,” and a couple bags to freeze for winter sauce.

Lots of rain. Gonna pull most my plants soon. Just went on vacation for a week so they got even less love than usual, throw in a little tropical storm wind and things are looking rough. I will have a few survivors that I can pay attention to. Planting a bunch more lettuce to take advantage of the moisture, probably sneak in some more corn too before the days start getting shorter.

Well I’m a pepper grower now, F dem tomatoes!
Just two Roulettes producing and it’s more than wifey can eat. Getting my little raised bed going, hopefully can keep it fairly disease free. September 1st is when I start my winter brassicas usually, so off to a new winter grow log soon.
