Re: Jardín del Gotch
Nope I have never heard of Namio before. Do you have a history on it? I will be glad to try these seeds from you.
I have Sheboygan growing that I got from you. The seed took it's time to germinate but I do have a very small plant going. I do have a couple of Winsall that are in need of a home. If you are in the area any time soon I would be happy to share.

@MissS; "Nope I have never heard of Namio before. Do you have a history on it?"
Only available at Felly's in Madison, the late Joe Namio was a local restauranteur of some acclaim brought the seeds from Sicily; ate there a few times back in the day.
"I have Sheboygan growing that I got from you. The seed took it's time to germinate but I do have a very small plant going."
Same experience here, the Greenbush Italians have been even more sluggish; that big yellow thing in the sky returning today after a nice soaking rain yesterday shouldn't hurt. Went out ~ 06:00 a.m. and everything was marvelously verdant and covered with a fresh, dripping dew glistening healthily in the rising sun.
"I do have a couple of Winsall that are in need of a home. If you are in the area any time soon I would be happy to share."
Your kind, generous offer notwithstanding, I was planning (cage-wise) on ~ 57 plants, relented to it growing to 61, with the final tally at 73.
I had assured the lovely and long suffering Mrs. Gotch that we'd be cutting back this year, and even managed to do so with the Sweet Peppers and Kale.
The Tomatoes? Not so much. My fault? Nope, it's that of some enablers I fell in with at a Tomato blog that shall remain nameless...

Re: Jardín del Gotch
While inspecting el Jardín del Gotch yesterday morning (its Kale Patch specifically) ~06:00 a.m., what do I find but a @#$%&! wabbit within its heretofore deemed wabbit-proof confines.
A...um...spirited effort, to convince it to skeedaddle (which it did) and never return (stay tuned), immediately ensued.
I figured a 25 foot/7.6 meters of 36 inch/.9 meter tall critter fence would adequately secure the three (3) sides of the 8 foot/2.44 meter square box which I considered to be the easiest access. I also figured that the unguarded side, being 2 feet/.61 meters above surface, would be out of reach.
I figured wrong.
I'd been seeing nibble marks only on the Green Giant Lacinato, (which I'd guessed was insect predation) yet nothing on the Prizm, Darkibor, Red Russian.
This @#$%&! wabbit had been walking on the 6 inch/15.24 cm timber (now plugged with cinder block barrier) along the fenced side until it got to the open portion, whereupon it entered and had at our Kale.
We're now at...er...full security, with a Grateful Kale Patch breathing a nervous sigh of relief...

Wascally wabbits! I feel and understand your pain, good sir! So far the netting has proven to exclude the sneaky squirrels from the corn. Time will tell.

Re: Jardín del Gotch
Returned from seven (7) days in Iron County, WI and was pleased (other than a MOUNTAIN of weeds which sprang up) that things didn't suffer so much in the extreme/dry heat.

This here Mama Mia Giallo Hybrid Sweet Pepper is ~ 5"/12.7 cms on a plant that's barely 1 foot/30.5 cms tall.
They'll grow to a sunny yellow, nicely thick-walled 10"/25.4 cms and are absolutely superb al dente from the grill; can't hardly wait!

They are looking good. You do have a little Early Blight. I would just remove those leaves and dispose of them. They do not belong in your compost.

Re: Jardín del Gotch
@Cornelius_Gotchberg harvest looking great! What’s the flavor like with Roulette? Remind you of any other types or is it in a category of it’s own. I have seeds and trying to work out what I’m growing next year. Big or little plant? Slow, medium or fast DTM? Can’t be too slow if you are already getting them. I like the idea of something I can use fresh and or dry if needed.
