They're in the fridge, as per growing instructions. When they arrive, it would be best to refrigerate them. They'll be clearly marked to refrigerate & keep moist. (i haven't sent yet; still have late ripening stuff to dry)Tormato wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 8:05 amAre they In the fridge, or room temp with the paw paw seeds?Nan6b wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 6:42 pmI was away from home, computer, and garden for months. Re: 2021 non-tomato seeds
In addition to the tomato seeds, I sent seeds for:
Kajari Melon
Farthest North Melon
Ruyu F1 Melon
Geumbo F1 Melon
I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in the collected seeds from F1 hybrid melons, but I sent some in since I had them.

Are Ruyu and Geumbo both saved seeds from the F1s, and therefore F2 seeds?Toomanymatoes wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 3:44 pm In addition to the tomato seeds, I sent seeds for:

Sometimes I can be a real pain in the _ _ _ _ , but did you mark down the date you put them in the fridge? And, will you let me know the date you take them out?Nan6b wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 11:43 amThey're in the fridge, as per growing instructions. When they arrive, it would be best to refrigerate them. Yes, technically they would be F2. If you think they are not of interest, feel free to just toss them away. I just had them and no real use for that many seeds.Tormato wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 5:22 pmAre Ruyu and Geumbo both saved seeds from the F1s, and therefore F2 seeds?Toomanymatoes wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 3:44 pm In addition to the tomato seeds, I sent seeds for:

Re: 2021 non-tomato seeds
Were your Farthest North melons bagged or isolated to prevent crossing? I've been wanting this one, but I'd like to be able to save pure seeds from it if it does well for me.Toomanymatoes wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 6:44 pmYes, technically they would be F2. Re: 2021 non-tomato seeds
Sorry, I did not bag any blooms on my melons. I grew the four listed above and no other vegetables besides tomatoes and peppers if that makes any difference.OhioGardener wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 9:15 amWere your Farthest North melons bagged or isolated to prevent crossing? Re: 2021 non-tomato seeds
I do not know anything about this variety beyond the vendor description:
5687- Farthest North Melon. 65 days. Early, cool weather tolerant melons. Small, single-serving, baseball size melons great flavor. Developed by Tim Peters of Peters Seed and Research.
I planted the seeds from the vendor and collected seeds from the three melons that grew. I planted this variety late to replace my watermelon that died from transplant shock. So, I only got a few fruits. The melons were all similar in phenotype. They were basically small 1lb cantaloupes with orange flesh. Similar to the picture on the vendor website.

Re: 2021 non-tomato seeds
It's supposed to be a short season grex with the standard traits being small, early, and cold tolerant, but variable in color, etc.Toomanymatoes wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 2:33 pm I do not know anything about this variety beyond the vendor description:

Re: 2021 non-tomato seeds
Hi everyone, I am getting my seeds together to mail to Tormato soon and just wanted to know if anyone would be interested in Spring Kale, Georgia Collards, Blue Lake bush beans or Cleomes ( seed originated from my grandmother's yard ) ? I have a bunch I can send in if there is any interest ? I started a new job 2 months ago and have not had a lot of time in whats left of my garden or the yard so its been fun and very relaxing to go thru my seed stash and get ready for the swap.
I will probably be posting more questions before I get my bubble envy in the mail

That melon has me thinking to acquire Farthest North Galia Mix, and cross the two of them.Toomanymatoes wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 2:33 pm I do not know anything about this variety beyond the vendor description:

Bulk packs are welcome, rather than filling several small packs.

Re: 2021 non-tomato seeds
I didn't mark them with dates... They went into the fridge during pawpaw season, so around September 15. They came out of the fridge today, November 15. My stuff was mailed today. The package says "refrigerate on arrival" and the pawpaw seeds are the first thing you see when you open it. The seeds will be OK, I think, since last year I picked seeds off the ground which had been in the natural warm/cold and wet/dry of the weather here (and I had reports of germination). I don't think the trip, esp. in an unheated truck, will hurt them.Tormato wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 5:26 pmSometimes I can be a real pain in the _ _ _ _ , but did you mark down the date you put them in the fridge? I also have sent in seeds of Salvia "Coral Nymph". The sheet erroneously says '"salvia 'starlight rose'" but the seed packets have the proper labels in them. Salvia "Coral Nymph" is one gorgeous flower, everyone!
