Re: MMMM swap
Stump of the World has been the best tasting tomato in my garden for both 2019 and 2020. Need I say if I have a boat load of seeds?Ginger2778 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 4:38 am @Tormato - please, if you can, can you include Stump of the World since we are growing it out next season as a tribute to Remy?

Re: MMMM swap
Grin I grew out 9 different varieties this year and most are just starting to ripen. Of course there are only a few plants of each variety but small packets of 10 seeds should be doable from most of them. How many will depend on my weather of course...

Re: MMMM swap
Okay, here I am fingers crossed and bouncing on my toes asking for a sponsor so I can play! THANK YOU in advance for the generosity!Tormato wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 4:37 pm![]()

There's no need to have any seed to swap. And because there are some participants who enjoy sponsoring a "newbie", just ask to be sponsored and you should get a reply.
Soon, I'll post a list of "categories" (types of tomatoes, generally sorted by shapes and colors, such as beefsteaks, hearts, cherries, pinks, reds, greens, etc...). If you'd prefer types of tomatoes from just some specific categories, you may want to ask for a sponsor who will sponsor you for one or more categories. If you'd like a mix of everything, there's no need for a specific sponsor.

Re: MMMM swap
Pete I would be happy to sponsor you if you need it. I can also sponsor a few more as well. PM me after Tormato has set up the catagories and we will discuss the details.

Re: MMMM swap
Proposed categories are; Beefsteak, Black, Blue*, Cherry/Grape/Current, Cool Weather*, Determinate, Dwarf Project, Eastern European, Experimental (non-commercial F1's, F2's, etc...), Green, Heart, Hot Weather*, Italian, Knock-Your-Socks-Off (your favorite for flavor that almost no one knows about), Micro (14" tall or less), Oldies-But-Goodies (great old varieties that have almost disappeared), Paste/Canner, Pink, Potato Leaf,
Red, Striped, Very Early (55 days or less to maturity from transplanting), and Yellow/Gold/Orange/White/BiColor.
Categories with a (*) haven't been very popular in the past few swaps, so they may have a fairly limited number of varieties in the swap.
Suggestions for other categories to add are welcome.
Me hook and brain be rusty, as I posted a MMMM wish list thread in Area 51! Ignore it, as I'll post it in General discussion, soon. And the above list of categories is by memory of the same rusty brain, So, I might have missed one or two.

Re: MMMM swap
Tormato, I moved the MMMM Wish List to the Seed Wish List forum so that you have your Moderator rights there and can revise it as you need to. It makes good sense to have it in that section just because of the title.

Re: MMMM swap
Okay, I haven't participated in the MMMM before, but I have oodles of seeds (more every day!) for several dozen varieties. So since I have seeds, I don't need a sponsor even though I'm new, is that right? And since I have lots of seeds, maybe I could even sponsor someone else? If so, what all would I need to know about sponsoring someone? I'm hoping there will be lots of new people now that we have a forum that's so easy to join
Have I mentioned how excited I am about this?! Thanks for brightening the end of the season, Tormato!!

Re: MMMM swap
root_grow Sponsorship means that you supply the seeds for someone that does not have them. First you need to determine which categories it that you can sponsor them for. Then either you send them the seeds (which I do) or you bag them with 5-10 seeds per pack, label them with the variety and date. You need to submit 10 packs of 5-10 seeds per category entered. Have them make their Wish List and post it. Then I always send in as many Bonus packs of seeds as I can so that the Bonus section has a bank of seeds to distribute to everyone. This is the part that makes the swap so incredibly awesome for everyone.
If you need help, ask here or feel free to PM me.

Re: MMMM swap
Gary, I would like to participate to the MMMM however I am only able to send only 4 kind of tomatoes.
This January I started 20 different type of tomatoes but I only managed to germinate 7, of those 7 -3 where not true type.
But I had good luck with sweet peppers. I can send them in as a bonus.
Thank you for your consideration.

Re: MMMM swap
Oh! I will have seeds - at least EML and Pink Ponderosa. Is that enough or do I still need a sponsor?
