@MissS Sandbagging again? Beautiful fruits you got there. You know where you can send those seeds if you so desire, still got three months to go.

I will be more than happy to send some your way. Do you want them fermented or just dried on a paper towel and sent on their way?

Just to explain to you all the results that I had this year. I bought some very expensive seed of true competition tomatoes and was given some too by a wonderful man, I grew a few plants so that I could harvest the seeds to share with all of you. I thought that with the verticillium wilt that I had wasted my money because I had nothing to share. So finding this healthy plant in the pathway is truly a blessing to me.

I'm so excited and impressed. These are off of a plant that was growing in my pathway. It didn't get any care. It wasn't staked, watered or fertilized. The best part is that it is healthy! No verticillium wilt so I can share seeds of this one! I don't know what it is unless I find a marker for it once the plant is pulled. I don't remember planting it but with tomatoes like this I doubt that it would be a volunteer.
@MissS What variety of seed is this?

@steve ok that's a great question. It's sprawling in the middle of the path. It's not staked or caged so I have to wait until I pull it to see if it has a marker. For now I am calling it Big Lou but that is not it's real name.

@Cornelius_Gotchberg I will try to get to it this week. My tomatoes will be excluded because I think that mine might come from some competition seed and have an unfair advantage over everyone else's. Of course, next year seeds will be available to all of you so if I grow a big one then, it's a fair game.

Late Pink Gift submission; nice for this time of year, if a tad undersized and misshapen:

And for the @Uncle_Feist competition:

We are coming around the corner and entering the home stretch. This is a great race. They have been going neck and neck. We have 3:01.2 Sakharnyi Zheityi ridden by @wodehouse trying to keep the lead. The @Cornelius_Gotchberg stables famous 2:6.95 Big Zac whipped into running 2nd. The pretty filly Pink Stacy owned and ridden by @Uncle_Feist is holding 3rd.Running 4th is a 2:06.3 Domingo for the @karstopography ranch. 5th place is also from the @karstopography hold, 2:05.8 Domingo.

Let's see what happens coming down the home stretch. Can someone from behind take away the lead? The race is not quite over yet.

I am not participating in the race. I bought some competition seeds so my fruit had an unfair advantage even if the plants were sickly. Yep, I was sandbagging. But y'all had better watch out because I saved seeds to share for the next race and then it will be an even playing field!!!

Now Mark, I heard that you have a dark horse running here at the back of the pack. When are you going to make your move? You had better dig your heels into that colt and get it going.

@Whwoz do you still have a pony running?

Here is an actual picture of me and my dark horse. The front runners should be completely unworried.

@MissS , the odds of me getting anything ripe before Christmas are low, most likely the varieties 42 days or maybe EM Champion, nothing to rival what is above. I should really look at starting off next year's thread where Prudens Purple and Zenas Gift are probably going to be the largest that I have. I don't have any seed of the bigger varieties available to me at this point in time.

@Mark_Thompson what happened to the last seeds that I sent to you. Last I heard they had sprouted for you.

Yes those plants are looking great, no fruit set yet. Being from your unidentified “Big Lou” fruits I didn’t think those were eligible for this year’s competition though?

What about @Yak54 King Kong's that you showed to us? As far as the "Big Lou's", show them to us and "we" will be the judge of that. Remember that there are no rules this year other than a photo of a tomato on a scale.

I think the King Kongs got eaten by bugs. So I’ve got a Domingo in a pot and a Domingo in the ground, along with two Big Lous in a big ol’ pot.

I’m drawing a blank on horse metaphors, but I do have a couple of fruit set. Would take quite a miracle for anything to break the two pound mark though. No big megablooms unfortunately.
