I hear that! It’s not been a good year in the garden, not a good year at all! Hearing that others are having similar problems is comforting in its own way. All we can do is accept what the garden gives and try again next year.

On left, coupla pleasantly attractive Mushroom Baskets, a decidedly...um...uncharacteristic trait of the variety, and the WESconsin developed Greenbush Italian Heirloom.

A family member developed the Calypso variety of tomatoes while at the UW Madison. He wanted a hybrid that would do well in his native Trinidad/Tobago.Cornelius_Gotchberg wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 8:21 am On left, coupla pleasantly attractive Mushroom Baskets, a decidedly...um...uncharacteristic trait of the variety, and the WESconsin developed Greenbush Italian Heirloom.

Post some pix, please. I'm thinking yer the 1st Scandinavian to plant Big Bubba; a true trail-blazer!
Mine have all been two tone, but the vine has been VERY productive, all >1 lb/454 grams; I'll plant it again.

Re: Jardín del Gotch
I have two Big Bubba plants with huge tomatoes. There's not many fruits, but the ones growing are really big.
This photo is taken tonight, so it is a bit dark.

Beautimous! The shape of our respective fruit is really the only similarity; unlike me, you's got the "as advertised" Big Bubba (https://bountyhunterseeds.com/product/big-bubba-tomato/) if you's have the occasion, share some pix of it sliced...and save seed!

It's good to see the pantry filling, isn't it? A most yummy reward for all of that work! I rather enjoy eating from my pantry during winter, especially if the weather's lousy and I don't want to go out anyway. As long as the power doesn't go out!
