Best seedling ever! pic
On a whim we had some space available in a small Aerogarden so I planted a Tiny Tim. This is crazy how healthy this plant looks. I've been growing tomatoes for 20 years and this is the best seedling I've seen. Aerogarden seems to have cracked the code. The circulating aerated fertilized water below is nice, but imo the light is the secret, but just a guess.

Aren't they fantastic? I started some micro's in an Aerogarden, then moved them to Kratky jars last winter. They did really well, so I'm doing that again this winter. Started Nov. 11 and have green tomatoes now.

@Labradors did you keep growing them in the Kratky jars through production? So never a sniff of dirt?

Re: Best seedling ever! pic
ddsack, I grew them in their Kratky jars until it was planting out time. I'd had enough of them by then so I planted them both outside. (One was in a gallon-sized glass pickle jar, the other in a 64 oz mason jar. Both gave me lots of tomatoes and, as expected, the larger jar produced a larger plant). I was a little nervous about planting them in soil, but kept them very wet for a few days, and they both adapted beautifully and kept on producing tomatoes
.
