It's Camellia Time

It's Camellia time! The Sasanqua Camellias always start the parade in the fall. The other day 'Stephanie Golden' was showing off her first bloom and now she's in full bloom by the back door. The bees are busy gathering some of the last good eats of the year.
This is 'Apple Blossom' on the other side of the porch. The dropped petals make it almost looks like a blanket of snow under the plant.
On one of the blossoms there was an Ailanthus Webworm Moth. I've also seen a few on the blooming asters. This is the only time of year I see them. Odd looking but colorful thing. They lay their eggs only on the Tree Of Heaven, a very invasive tree which I've never seen around here but I guess there's one somewhere!
Pickles informs me that there's a nice head of broccoli to cut tomorrow. The first one!
