Missouri Pink Love Apple

One of my tomatoes was mislabeled. I narrowed down what the possibilities were and compared photos of the cross-section. The tomato had lots of juice and very seedy. Had anyone else gotten very seedy and juicy MPLA? I would like to send some in to MMMM but want to make sure I have ID right. It was pink indeterminate, regular leaf around 12 ounces. I have seen sites list as both potato leaf and regular leaf. Are both leaf types in circulation? This would have come from a SSE packet.

If it were me, I would not share any of these seeds unless I was 100% sure of what they were. Too many tomatoes have been passed around under the wrong name. It is very disappointing to learn that you grew an imposter.

If you would like to offer them, then offer them as an unknown variety and list it's traits.

Looks almost nothing like the MPLA I grew out this season from purchased direct from famous name online seed vendor. Mine was a Pink, Potato Leafed and had very few seeds and much smaller seed locules. Yours appears to have as much seeds in one or two locules as mine had in a whole tomato.

I've never heard of a RL, I've only grown out the PL. It may not have been "mislabeled", as it may have been saved seed that was a natural cross, and being unaware to the saver.

You can send in seeds to the MMMM, so that I can trial, but not distribute them. About 20 seeds should be enough to start them all, and see if there is a mix of RL and PL seedlings.

I didn't know there was a PL version. That makes me want to try it again. I believe the one I grew in 2016 was RL. I got the seeds from a friend.

The picture does not look familiar. The fruits had a moderate amount of seeds, I think. I don't remember them being super juicy. They were more tart than most of the rest of my tomatoes that year (which was a good thing, since many were very mild). Mine reliably had a certain unique shape. I still have the seeds I saved. The fruits seemed like they were probably about 9 to 11 ounces. I'm guessing it was maybe a 70 to 80 day tomato. It was earlier than most.

FYI, if anyone wants seeds I have that I mention in my posts, I won't be offended if you express an interest in them (but I only ship within the USA).
