Picking Ahead of Helene

Got the first picking of Red Ripper cowpeas this morning. With H. Helene bringing maybe a lot of rain in Friday I might not be able to get into the pea patch for a day or two as it sits in a somewhat lower area. It will be interesting to see how fast whatever rain we get is sopped up by the ground.

Also picked some peppers and what's probably the last handful of Blue Lake pole beans. Those are Ozark Sweeet snack in the front of the basket followed by the red Lipsticks, some jalapenos and that handful of beans.

I just picked my Piggott Peas and Okra. We had 5 1/4 inches of rain last night here in central N.C.
Glad I got them picked. The garden is impassable for a few days.
