This morning's e-mail brought an update from Sustainable Market Gardening. Today's post was about fall weed identification.

https://www.sustainablemarketfarming.co ... mer-weeds/

It included a link to a great weed ID site from Virginia Tech. Passing it on...

I thought I had a trumpet creeper but it's more like a bush and the flowers are only about 1/2" long.
Orange blossoms that hummingbirds love.

Honeysuckle is on another part of the property and had blossoms earlier in the summer.
You can smell that a mile away.
This weed just started having blossoms a few weeks ago.
The trumpet creeper is more of a vine that is like poison ivy when it hits your skin.

@slugworth an orange plant that hummingbirds love. Is it this?

It's a late bloomer. An annual that likes moisture. Impatiens capensis. When it's blooming, the hummingbirds want nothing else. An aggressive re-seeder for sure.

Well, at least the title isn't making this thread go up in smoke.

It looks like the picture. The blossoms start out looking like little trumpets then open up.
Orange with freckles.Mixed in with wild blackberry bushes that are taking over the yard.
