What’s eating my plants

This particular container keeps eating my plants. What is doing this, any ideas? I am in the North Gulf Coast area of Florida. Thanks for any assistance.

@chuckb74 It looks like you have a cutworm in there. Either toss the soil or put a collar around the stem of your plant.

I remember one year I had cut worms really bad in a new area I was growing in. I lost so many plants before I knew what was doing it. I dug up the ground around the cut off plants and there they were... I ended up buying drinking straws and cutting them into 4 to 5 inch pieces, then cutting them down one side and then putting them around the bottom of my plants. This worked perfectly.

Thanks for the replies. I am definitely emptying this container today.
