2023 Pepper Grow list
This year I'm growing a few of my "old reliables" and a couple of new ones. 2022 was a very good year for my peppers. Hope 2023 can repeat.
Hatch Mild
Anaheim TMR
Chervena Chushka
Giuseppe
Tolli's Sweet Italian
Choricero (Gernika) or Txorixero. Pick a name you like for this one

Re: 2023 Pepper Grow list
Yesterday afternoon I started the peppers and eggplants. The sweet peppers are all the longer frying/stuffing types since bells don't do well at all in the heat here.
Sweet peppers are:
Gypsy
Ruben's Lungo Rosso
Super Shepherd
TAM Mild
Tangerine Dream
Hot peppers are few as I still have a bunch in the freezer from last year:
Mucho Nacho jalapeno (for poppers and canning up pickled slices)
Gochugaru (Korean pepper used in making kimchi after being dehydrated and made into pepper flakes)
Eggplants are Chinese String and Poamoho. The Chinese String is one we started growing last year and it's so tender and creamy. The Poamoho is a recent release developed in Hawaii by their University folks who were looking for a good, quality open pollinated variety to rival the hybrid ones. We've always loved Millionaire (hybrid) but I'm trying Poamoho to see if it's as good. I'll be doing a Millionaire for summer/fall just for comparison. The photos of each look very similar.
And big thanks to those who provided the Ruben's, TAM and Tangerine Dream seeds either through MMMM or a swap!

Re: 2023 Pepper Grow list
Here is my final pepper list for 2023. As usual, my old favorites list is longer than the new ones, unlike my tomatoes, where there are few perfect ones, for this weather.
Old favs:
Aji Dulce
Aruna
Chocolate Habanero
Hanoi Market
Jalafuego
Jalapeño M
Jyoti
Maui Purple (new source, but listed as milder than my old ones)
Superchili
Thai Dragon (I'll see how this compares to others I've grown in the past with this name)
Thai Vesuvius
New (mostly)
Big Mic
Datil (very late ages ago, but hopefully they have improved it, like many chinense varieties)
Hawaian frutescens
Japanese Yatsufusa
Joe Parker
Pimienda de Pedron
Pumpkin Pie Spice NuMex/Jalapeño
Wartryx (only superhot this year)
Most of those new varieties will need covered, along with the Jalapeños and Hanoi Market, as they are the types prone to pepper maggot flies.
