Is there any way to make it so the poster or thread starter doesn't count as a view when they look at it?

In other places no matter how many times the original starter looks at a thread the count wont go up.
Here it does.
My reason is if I start a thread I would like to know if there is any interest in it.
I cant tell any other way.

You can tell, you'll get a notification if someone posts. Also just scroll to the topic and see the views, you can do that from the main catagory.

I don't ever get a notification if someone posts. But if you hit New Posts and the thread comes up, you know if someone posted, and how many have viewed.

Change your notification settings in the user control panel in you profile.
