Very good lima bean for taste and production. Always pick well into October.

Why wasn't that on the seed pack label?

Goes without saying, if it was sent in, it's a good one. Not to mention, descriptions don't fit on a 1" x 1" label.

Many efforts to grow limas of any variety (both bush and pole) failed. The pods would form but never fill out. I finally tried the ABE butterbean as a last resort and had success. I grew it over the past three years but decided to use the trellis space for something else this year. The vines seem to hold up well in heat and humidity. Tons of pods, most of which filled out although a lot had a few discolored beans in them. No idea what the problem is. But yes, they will produce into the fall. Tasty too!
For reference purposes, the last time I did them they were seeded 5/4, first flowers 6/17, first pick 7/10.

I hear that spacing is the key to success, but can't prove it. Bush limas 12", pole limas 16", is what I use.
