I have to log in to Area 51 controversial every day. It is time consuming and a bit of a pain. Is there a way to remember that I want to be logged in all of the time? Perhaps a setting somewhere so I can check a box?

No. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but it was designed that way so that you are reminded that you are entering the deep dark secret dungeon of the forum.
The only way around it would be to make 'your' password the same as the password used to enter the controversial forum.

I just hit the login button, and I'm in. No typing in a password.

I bet that you had the computer remember your password for the controversial forum. If you did that, then you won't be able to log in to the main forum the next time that you that you return without having to re-enter your regular password. The computer won't remember 2 different passwords for the same site.

I'll wager 1,000 SunGold seeds that I can login without having to re-enter my regular password. I've been doing it for some time. I guess Quint's got one wheel and two rudders on this boat.

It is probably a matter of the device and operating system or browser. I am on a droid phone with chrome, and google passwords saves both the main and the controversial logins.

I need a new device...

I an using a 1 year old H-P desktop with Win 10 and Chrome.

My device will only remember one password for the site so I use the password for the controversial forum as my password to make it easy and I do not need to enter it to get into the controversial site.

I use a different password for the main site but since I never log out I do not need to enter it again.

Using a 2 month old computer W10 and chrome this is still what I get.

Using the same password sounds like it would be worth a try. I don't understand why I have to be reminded of this every day. Removing the quotes from "controversial" in the warning would be helpful. I copy and paste the password and highlighting it without the quotes takes some extra time.

Trust me that I did NOT assume anything! In fact I knew that it would fuddle your mind. Now you have something to ponder today and for the next month for that matter.
