Savory snacks and dishes from cold cereal

We have a lot of unused cereal that I don't plan to eat with milk any time soon. I don't want it to go stale. We mostly have Corn Chex, Rice Chex, and Great Value Corn Flakes.

What kind of savory snacks and dishes can I make out of all this cereal? I'm especially interested in recipes you've used yourself.

Don't know about the Chex's, but Corn flakes I would turn into Honey Joys, quick and easy.

This recipe is available on the web, Original Chex® Party Mix. My MIL used to make a box every year for us for Christmas. Can use what you have or like, does not have to be exact. I would probably lower the salt for myself.

I've seen recipes which use crushed corn flakes in crispy coatings instead of bread crumbs. Since the Chex has more sugar in it, that might taste odd, depending on what you were coating. You might also be able to use them crushed in meatloaf instead of bread crumbs, especially if you like bbq sauce or ketchup on or in it anyway.

There’s Odin’s Cornflake Whiskey recipe. I’d put a good sipping whiskey in the savory category. Puppy chow is what people do with chex around here, but that stuff is horribly sweet. Any recipe for anything in east Texas has 3-5 times the sugar that should in there. Tea, cookies, cakes, pies, cobbler.

There are a number of recipes for fish fried in corn flakes. Here’s one. https://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/co ... ed6cc29c6b

I agree with corn flake chicken! It's one of my favorites. I haven't tried this particular recipe, but they're all pretty similar.

Corn Flake Cookies

Melt 6 oz. butterscotch chips + 1/2 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy).
Cool. Add 3 cups cornflakes.
Drop on cookie sheets; refrigerate.

Tastes better than you think.

I make Parmesan corn flake crumb crusted chicken breasts in the oven and they are one of my favorite ways to make chicken. I buy the crumbs already crushed here is the recipe

Ingredients
• 1/2 cup crushed cornflakes
• 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
• 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
• 1-1/2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/8 teaspoon pepper
• 6 tablespoons butter, melted
• 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pounded to tenderize
Directions
In a shallow bowl or a plastic bag, combine the first six ingredients. Place butter in another shallow bowl. Dip chicken in butter, then roll in cornflake mixture.
Melt some additional butter in a 15x10” baking pan and then add chicken to the pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 15 minutes and then turn chicken. Bake approximately another 15 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°.

You could make these with any cereal. My grandmother used to make them with Cheerios and we loved them. Your Chex cereal would work too.
