Adding your location to your profile is a very helpful tool to have when you are asking questions about gardening. The answers to many questions will vary depending on what your climate is.
To add your location, click on your user name in the upper right hand corner of the screen. This will open your User Control Panel. From there, click on the second tab which says "Profile". The second box down on the screen says "Location". Add your location in this box. Then all that you need to do is hit Submit. Your location is now permanently displayed in every post that you make.
Thank you so very much for doing this!

I see that we still have many members that need to add their location to their profile, so again, I am bumping this thread. It really does help us all to answer many of your questions much better. Your location gives us an idea as to your climate and growing conditions.

For those that don't want to give their precise location, you can fill in whatever you want. Worth's still gives enough information to know the type of climate he is gardeneing in. You don't have to give more information than you want, but consider giving enough to make gardening discussions helpful. At least a zone, a state, or both is even better, and you are not disclosing too much. It is tough to help anyone if you don't know if they are gardening in Maine, Iowa, Northern California or Texas. Even if you are just sharing your experiences and recommendations and not asking for help, It is hard to know whether your experiences even apply to me or anyone else if you don't give any idea where you are.

Even different parts of the same state will have different growing conditions.
42.8 °F Now
Feels Like 30.1 °F

That would be like different zones then, wouldn't it?

Thanks much Miss S - I always look for a "posts" location - that information is essential to thoroughly understand the post.

not precise enough for me.
Most of Connecticut has warm humid summers and cold winters with moderate snowfall. However, the southern and coastal regions have hot humid summers and warmer winters with snowfall rarely occurring.
where are they when I have to shovel snow.
This was true about 20 years ago.
